the silence seem to be the only comfort for all of them at the moment. finishing her tea, jenna got up and place her hand on vivien's shoulder.

"the Lady will grant them many children when we vanquish these shadows, viv, there is always tommorrow." jenna hoped her whispered words would comfort her cousin before she left the kitchen.

viv just nodded and smiled faintly and returned to her tea and silence.

jennabard hurried out and went to her room to mourn alone. a faint light passed through her door and materialized into a beautiful woman.

"it could not be helped." the ghost spoke softly.

jenna looked at the warrior ghost and sighed.

"i know, but it doesn't make it right."

tears began to drop," why them, why me, why...why...why..."

darien continue to watch the bard sob at the injustice of the situation.

"lady, you must be strong, now, can't you sense the deaths by the hands of the drow as they sweep through the elven glades? it is time. i am ready."

jenna slowly began to compose herself and finally looked at her ghostly companion.
she took up her blade, that constant reminder of her responsiblity and her power, and nodded.

with a voice as soft as thunder
"go, i grant you the power to affect the realm of the living. you are the sycthe that shall harvest the soul that no longer belongs in this realm. go champion and succeed. THIS, THE LADY COMMANDS."

darien bowed deeply, and accepted the command without question. for a moment, the ghost was in the presense of something greater than her. it was not the bard she bowed to. jenna was just a vessel, but SHE was there, no one has heard her voice in ages. how can one not bow to the Lady of death.

Darkpoet, quietly listening to the footsteps, as they approached the bedroom door. He got up slowly, so as not to wake, T’lainya. Quickly putting on his clothes, Darkpoet opened the door. He was surprised to see Menadir; Darkpoet didn’t like the look on his face either. “Darkpoet we need to talk. Can we go outside? I don’t want T’lainya to here this right now.” Menadir lead Darkpoet, outside the keep. “I hate to tell you this, but the war has started. Our people and the Drow have finally done it. I have a bad feeling, it will be a long war too.” Menadir shook his head sadly. “I’ll get my gear, we can leave quickly.” Menadir stopped Darkpoet. “No! Kramor said you are in charge of the Keep. Besides, Te’gar is sending the wounded here, I need you here. How much of the ruins are rebuilt?” Darkpoet shrugged his shoulders, “I don’t know, I haven’t checked in a while. Kramor told me I should go and talk to Ria’ya, I have yet to do that.”

The both of them looked up, as a rider approached fast. As the horse was skidding to a stop, the rider jumped off. Out of breathe, he approach the two men. “Which one of you, is Darkpoet?” “I am.” Darkpoet answered. “What do you need?” The rider, turned and pointed to the crest of the hill, “There is wounded coming in sir. I am suppose to let you know. More will be coming later.” The man quickly, mounted his horse. Turning the horse, he nodded to Darkpoet and Menadir. Darkpoet headed back to the Keep, call over his shoulder. “I’ll wake the others, we will be busy soon.” As Darkpoet made it to the gates of the Keep, Menadir called out. “Dp, you need to get back here, now.”

Darkpoet turned, he saw Menadir’s face. It was drawn back and pale. Moving quickly, to the wagon, Darkpoet’s heart stopped. In the wagon, he saw his mother and sister. Lying next to them, were two cover bodies. Caladriwien opened her eyes, she saw her son standing over her. Tears ran down her cheeks, as she reached out to touch Darkpoet’s face. In her other hand, she showed him the bloody amulet. Darkpoet recognized the amulet, he looked at the covered bodies. He saw his father’s sword on top of one of he covered bodies. Darkpoet’s shoulders drooped, he took his mother’s hand. “Your safe now, mom. My friends and I, will take good care of you and T’oweil.” Darkpoet walked with the wagon, as it moved into the courtyard. He carried his sister, to the guest room, with Menadir carrying Caladriwien. As Menadir, went to get T’lainya, Caladriwien spoke to Darkpoet. “The sword is yours, he would of wanted you to have it. You go, your sister and I need some rest. You can come back later.” Darkpoet nodded, leaving he closed the door quietly. Walking outside, he went inside the blacksmith shop, getting a shovel. Putting it in the back of the wagon, he took the reigns, leading the horses to the top of the hill. Darkpoet took off his tunic, he started digging a grave for his father and brother.

A Raven, flew from the Ruins, to the hill. The bird landed on the seat of the wagon. It quietly watched as Darkpoet, finished digging the graves. Darkpoet gently lifted his brother and put him in the grave. He likewise, did the same with his father. Darkpoet lifted his father’s sword, from the wagon. Pulling it out of the scabbard, he studied the engravings and letterings on the sword. His heart-felt heavy holding the sword, it needed to stay with his father. As Darkpoet, went to put the sword with his father. The Raven, changed shape into a woman. “Darkpoet, why are you going against your mother wishes?” Darkpoet stood back up, still holding the sword. “It doesn’t feel right, Ria’ya. It belongs with my father, where it should be.” Ria’ya put her hand on Darkpoet’s shoulder and squeezed lightly. “Then put it in the Hall of Honors, honor your father that way. You should also put Odessa’s armor and weapons, there too.” Ria’ya smiled, “I guess you and T’lainya, like the room also.” Darkpoet looked at Ria’ya, his face a bit red. “I’ll do that, thank you. I always wondered what the room was for.” Ria’ya met Darkpoet’s gaze, “The Hall of Honors, has many purposes. Not only to honor those, who have died in the past. But, to prepare for the future. Tris is slowly being rebuilt, people are returning. People who belong here, this time, no shadow will chase them away. Tris grows, stronger everyday. I wish. I wish I could do more.” Ria’ya face saddens. “It would be nice to help out with the rebuilding. I will help in anyway I can. Please send the word out to those in need.” Darkpoet nodded, “We need room for the wounded and refugees, they are heading this way. I’m afraid, that the Keep, would not be able to, take them all.”

Ria’ya straighten, the proud stature of the woman return. Her black eyes glowed with power. “Darkpoet, you need not to worry. There is more that you and Kramor, need to learn. The Ruins of Tris is no longer. Tris is here to stay. Send the wounded and refugees, they will be taken care of. Do not worry, about the defenses of the land. I will see to it. Like I said, you and Kramor, have a lot to learn.” Ria’ya turned Darkpoet towards the Ruins. He was astonished to see, how much was built. Standards waved in the breeze, above the towers. Darkpoet noticed that the Standards had a dark yellow field, with a flame. The flame was the deepest blue, he had ever seen. The Dark Flames have their Standard, a symbol of their notoriety. A smile crossed his lips, Darkpoet wondered how the ladies, would react. Darkpoet knelt before his father and brother. His forehead touch the hilt of the sword, he whisper an Elvin prayer. He did not notice, as another wagon had approach, until he had finished. Darkpoet was even more shocked, as he looked up and saw of company of soldiers. Standing at attention, before the graves. One of them came forward, “Sir, it would be an honor, if we can finish here for you.” Darkpoet didn’t know what to say. Ria’ya’s words came back to him, “You and Kramor, have much to learn.” Darkpoet tried to swallow the lump in his throat, “Yes, you may have the honor, thank you.”

Taking the sword and his tunic, Darkpoet turned to the wagon. Only to see, the Raven staring at him on the seat. Leaving the wagon, Darkpoet headed back to the Keep. He looked in see T’lainya, with his mother and sister. He knew they were in good hands. Taking his father’s sword and Odessa’s things, Darkpoet went down in the Hall of Honors. Setting up an armor stand, he placed Odessa’s armor on it, along with her weapons. Darkpoet then, placed his father’s sword, on the wall, with the others. Only then did he understand, the real meaning of this room and the pictographs in the hallway.

Teshana, watched as the Radiant Heart outpost burned. Paladins and Cavaliers lay dead along the ground. Teshana grew impatient, she figured that she would have found Darkpoet by know. But, finding out that some Elvin half-breed b!tch killed her pet demon. Which Teshana, had put in Darkpoet’s head. Teshana would kill her slow, so she could watch the life fade from her eyes. Teshana smiled at the thought, her smile grew bigger. When she remembered the look on Darkpoet’s face, when Teshana killed the female paladin, in front of him. Teshana shivered, as she thought of the look in Darkpoet’s eyes. How they turned black, with anger and hate. Instead of pleading for his life, he threatened Teshana. Dead or alive, he would hunt her down. Teshana felt something that she had never felt, towards a human. So she thought, until she found out that he had Elvin blood in him also. That gave Teshana more pleasure, having him as a slave. She shivered once again, knowing how much pain he endured. And the way Darkpoet’s eyes never showed pain, they showed the blackness of revenge. Teshana knew Darkpoet found her weakness. She bit her lip, beneath her helm. Realizing the mistake, for showing affection towards him. By then it was too late, Teshana had fallen in love, with someone who wanted to kill her. After he escaped and was caught, that’s when Teshana decided to put the demon in Darkpoet’s head. To control him, but it backfired. The demon when out of control, they both escaped, when she was on patrol. That was eight years ago, and she was still looking for him. No one would stand in her, until she did.

Teshana and her troops rode back to one of the many hidden sub-camps. The Drow had built for this war. When they rode in, they left the horses with servants. Teshana stretched her muscles, and reported to her commander. Of Elvin patrols and the destruction, that her group had done. The commander was pleased, with the report. She told Teshana, that the hit and run tactics, was doing major damage. After being dismissed, Teshana headed to her room. Right now she longed for a hot springs bath, to relax.

Darkpoet leaned against the Keep’s gates, with his arms crossed. Watching the slow moving wagons of wounded, heading towards the castle of Tris. Looking to see if he could recognize anyone, the top of the hill caught his attention. On the hill, where his father and brother were buried. Darkpoet saw, Menadir putting a large Standard into the ground. It was the Standard of the Black Archers. Menadir mounted his horse and waved at Darkpoet. Menadir then rode off, with his men. Darkpoet walked over to the stables, saddled a horse and brought it back over to the Keep. Hoping he wouldn’t bump into T’lainya, Darkpoet went to their room. He started to put on his gear, when he heard “Ahem, where are you going?” T’lainya asked Darkpoet. He stood up, looking at T’lainya. “Look, there is a war on, it’s the Drow. I need to find the Drow who killed my father and brother.”

T’lainya stared at Darkpoet, her eyes flashing green fire at him.

“I am well aware there is a war being waged. You cannot go charging off to get revenge as if you were fighting a mindless mushroom! Think about your mother and sister? Will it help them if the drow kill you? You will have your revenge, this I promise, but you
need to stop and think.”

Darkpoet stiffened and continued to fasten bits of armor.

“I’ve fought drow before.”

“Yes and got possessed by a demon, if I recall.”

T’lainya’s voice was humorless. She walked over to Darkpoet and put a gentle restraining hand on him. He tensed for a moment, then put his hand over hers. He felt as if he gave in to the raw pain he was feeling, he’d drown in it.
T’lainya spoke again, leaning against him, lending him her strength and serenity.

“Please don’t do anything until I meditate. I need a chance to learn the will of the Seldarine in this matter.”

Darkpoet opened his mouth to speak, resentful that she was so calm in the face of his pain. Then he saw a brief flash of anguish in her unguarded gaze.

“I feel your loss deeply Darkpoet, but I must do what is best for everyone. For you and your family, for my cousin and his troops, for all the Tel’Quessar. We also must think of the Dark Flames. If they are a target for the Drow they should know why. I need to attend some of my duties, again I implore you, don’t do anything rash.”

Walking back to the keep with Gwalchmai, Dragon Wench reflected on the swirling maelstrom of events that they had all become a part of.
Against the backdrop of her own internal confusion, she sensed some of her friends girding themselves for battle against the Drow; she wondered if participating in the raw simplicity of combat would help to dispel the dark imagery of her past.

in the mist of the confusion within the keep, jenna went to retrieve vivien meet with rai'ya. but something stopped her. in one of the rooms laid a wounded elven warrior, covered in blood and gasping for breath trying desperately to be brave in the face of his mortal wounds. jenna's heart welled with sorrow and compassion for this brave elf and went to sit by him and try to comport him as best she can.

he looked so young, with grey eyes filled with pain. as she tend to his wounds she began to softly sing an old elven lullaby. he smiled at her, his face soften and he began to breathe easier. he closed his eyes and slowly, calmly his breathe faded away.

jenna continue to sing the lullaby as she finished tending to the body. covering his face with a sheet she smiled and turned around. the elven warrior stood before her, sad and confused, his grey eyes looked to her with questions that seemed only jenna could answer.

"i didn't want to die."
"i know."
"so what happens now?"
"take my hand, demis laluria, and go in peace."

demis slowly raised his hand and took hers, they stood there for a moment. the elf smiled at jenna
"i can hear them, my people! i hear you! i'm coming!"

jenna left the now empty room still sing the old elven lullaby.

vivien was all a fluster with the wounded coming in, she could not believe that things are so bad now. everyone is so sad or hurt, she wished that she could just wave her magic wand and banish all the bad things in the world and make everyone happy.

making her rounds to help the wounded, she saw a small cluster of warriors gathered around a small bed. a knight lay dying and his companions were giving him last rites to better ease his way to his heaven. viv frowned at the site. it wasn't his time yet, she does not know how or why she knew but the knight isn't suppose to die. at least not now.

"stop. let me help" she cried as she pushed her way to the knights bed. smiling at him the knight could not help but smile back at her through the pain. she made sure that the ring is on her finger before she took his hand.

"your time has not come yet, sweetie. there is still much you have to do. your not going to die, but you will need to rest and gain your strength."

viv could feel the power of the ring going through her body into her hands and infusing into the knight. the ring will heal only what needs to be heal, time must do the rest.

"sleep and live!"

the knight closed his eyes. his breathing became easier and steady. he was going to live.

his companions look to her in wonder. and viv couln't help but blush.

T’lainya walked out of the room and towards the courtyard. She saw Dragonwench and Gwalchmai and told them that Darkpoet could brief them on events. That should keep him busy for a little while she thought grimly. She quickened her pace to the small altar she had arranged in a small clearing. She laid a small wreath of flowers and a small carving of a bird she had made on the altar. She closed her eyes and concentrated, focusing only on the great elvish god. As she fell deeper into her trance state, she could feel the energies around her. She felt the spirits of the dead elves flowing towards Arvandor to join all the generations of elves that had gone before. She sensed the essence of the deities and let herself be drawn to them. She opened her mind to the will of Corellon. The words echoed in her head, reverbrating through her body and spirit. She opened her eyes and went back inside the keep with a renewed purpose. Her hand clenched her pendant as she went to find Darkpoet and the others. She stopped to confer with one of the priests who had come with the wounded.

T’lainya knelt by the the side of a young warrior struck by the venomous darts the Drow were so enamored of. She spoke a few words as the healing energy coalesced around her hands. The gentle amber light surrounded her hands, giving them a slight warmth. The energy flowed from the priestess to the injured elf, bathing him in magic. He smiled as the pain receded and vanished. T’lainya smiled at him and continued on her way.

The bustle in the courtyard drew the attention of Georgi and Thantor, and they hurried down to find the wounded flooding the hallways. Georgi stared in horror at the numerous bodies. "... I should find one of the others..." she muttered faintly.

Thantor turned to her. "Are you okay?" he asked her, touching her pale cheek. He glanced at the nearest soldier, sat leaning against the wall clutching a wound in his side. Georgi followed Thantor's anguished glance, and understood implicitly.

She nodded. "I'm fine. Go ahead and help him, Thantor. These people need you. I'll catch up with you later." She kissed him, and smiled, then as he knelt and turned his attention to the soldier, she paced quickly through the keep to find someone who could tell her what was going on.

Georgi spotted Dragonwench talking to Gwalchmai, and rushed over to them. "What is all this?"

"We're as lost as you are," DW replied, "but T'lainya said DP could fill us in. Have you seen him?"

"In his room, maybe?" Georgi suggested, quickly hugging Gwally. "Why don't the two of us go and find him... Gwally would be more use here, healing the injured."

He nodded sagely. "Just come back and let me know what you find out."

The two women hurried upstairs and knocked anxiously on DP's door.

Darkpoet sat on a chair, looking out the window. Watching the stream of wounded, come to the Keep and the castle. He was not happy with the situation, but T'lainya was right. After hearing a knock, Darkpoet called out, "Come in." Georgi and DW, walked in.
"Hi ladies what can I do for you?"

Battle cries, the clash of weapons and screams of wounded all seemed to be distant as Harry try to accept the news that his wife had been killed by the drow. Looking at the messenger he asked in a toneless voice "where is her body?", the messenger gulped a hasty breath then replied "we were unable to recover it", "i see" came the answer as the elven swashbuckler got up to leave. The other elf asked "where are you going?" and recieved a cold stare as harry reached for his swords saying "to kill drow you fool" then he disappeared into the forest.

Soon he came across a small fight between a few elves and drow ... all paused in shock as he tore through the drow in complete silence .. breaking bones and knocking warriors over left and right and then vanishing without a trace on his way to find more drow, the elves easily vanquished the drow left behind him....

Later on he came across the encounter between Jelaric and the drow ... he was too far away to intervene before the drow murdered the human... fading into the shadows trailing the drow at a safe distance Harry thought Darkpoet is going to be out for blood when he finds out about this. Almost losing the trail several times after having to hide from roving bands of fighters harry eventually caught up with the large group as they were entering their base, hiding in the surrounding forest Harry felt a sharp sting in his left leg. Looking down there was a dart on the ground beside him, "damn" he muttered "the drow must have realised they were being followed at the radiant heart outpost".

Leaving his hiding place it became a mad race through the forest as Harry tried to find the dark archers before the posion left him at the mercy of the drow, crashing through ferns and leaping over fallen trees. He finally limped into a clearing just as elven scouts appeared from the bushes on the other side with drawn weapons, Harry came to a halt and then collapsed on the ground as the pain grew worse and blackness rose in waves rendering him unconscious.

Darkpoet looks a Georgi, his eyes darken. "That's all I know. The other is my concern and no one elses. I don't need any of you Flames, getting killed, for a problem that I thought was gone, along time ago. I can handle, this problem."
Darkpoet looked out the window, sighing.
"If only Kramor, hadn't left me in charge of the Keep."

Georgi sighed. "So, what are we supposed to do, just sit here?"

"It's the sensible thing to do," Dragonwench interjected. "This isn't our battle."

"They could be intending to attack for all we know! How close are they?" Georgi demanded.
