Help, unmentioned bug

I got out of the Underdark and travelled to the Slums. Kruin approaches me at the slums and asks for the silver blade. (and I refuse)
He says he will cast a powerful magic on me and the interface is taken away. He doesn't cast any magic and I just stand there, not able to do anything.
Any idea on how to get around this?

Nevermind, the pause was from the game placing monsters at the edge of my screen.
