Montoron Quest

I am trying to finish the bird quest with the Harpers. Problem is I have somehow lost the bird to give to Montoron. Any way to fix this or is this going to be an incomplete quest for me?

I'd say you better find that bird or recreate it with either shadowkeeper or CLUConsole. That quest is vital to continue harper plot (which btw yields ring of wizardry)

I'm solo-ing. I did the quest, got the bird, handed it to Xsar or whoever he is, and the harper appears and toasts him.

Then, this time the quest went no further. I'm right near the end now, in Suldaneessalewhatever and no harpers have come to kill me, and I can't re-enter the Harper compound (I tried, trust me!).

Whats the deal? Is it purely because I don't have Jaheira in my party that this goes no further?

Yep, the quest only continue if you have Jaheira in the party - this is her personal quest.
