You can grab morte back after you have put him back in, but you loose stats.

Tell them about Fhujil i usually do this, if i high enough stats i can successfullt lie to them :) :) Have you got the Modron Cube?
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

If you have a save prior to Fjhull you should reload & remember to ask him how to return! If you don't have an old save, you will have to ask the pillar about:
1)the Fortress of Regrets
2)how to leave Baator

So the best choice is to give up Morte and the location of Fjhull. You also have the choice of giving up Grace or Annah (you don't want to do that, do you?).

To remove Morte from the pillar, you need to be a double specialist i.e. reach level 12 with the same class that you first reach level 7. Note that you will lose 5HP permanently when you free Morte. If you have a high charisma you can lie about the location of Fjhull.

As I said you should use an old save & ask Fjhull about returning from Baator so that you only need to ask the pillar about the Fortress of Regrets.

I think the dialogue is directly after you have have asked about getting to the pillar, soemthing like "and how do i return"

Sorry i can not be more specific it has been a while :(

Maybe the choice only appears if you have high INT? My character had 18 INT at that point.
At level 7 and 12 you get a one-off bonus to your stats depending on your class. If you first reached level 7 as a thief then you must also first reach level 12 as a thief. This is a double specialist & can free Morte.
This will NOT work: e.g. you first reached level 7 as a thief & then changed to a fighter. Your fighter reaches level 12. You change back to thief and reach level 12. You try to free Morte from the pillar but all you get is a hernia
