Doll in Pharod's Vault

Post by Longshadow »

Hey all, my first post on this forum. Replaying the game a second time and finding a whole lot of stuff I missed the first time (just talked to Xachariah in the Mortuary, very cool), and this forum appears to still be fairly active, so I'd like to ask for the location of the Lady of Pain doll in Pharod's Vault. I recall finding it on my first time through the unpatched game, but now I can't seem to find it at all. Did the patch remove it, or am I just missing a cleverly concealed stash? I read the walkthrough and it said I would find the doll in the area with the two mini bookcases and the table that you can search and find the embalming fluid, needles and such, but no doll. Where did you guys find the doll, if at all? Thanks for the help.

I've played through twice, and never found any Lady of Pain doll among Pharod's vault gear. In fact, the vault was pretty disappointing, at least when you consider all the books that filled it. Surely Pharod did something other than read in his spare time. ;)

The only doll I ever found was the one in the shop in the Clerk's Ward, as I recall.

What? Those 45 jp didn't tide you over? :)
Did you happen to find the Stinger earring or the glass eye? Those 2 items were pretty nice. Still I can definately recall finding a lady of pain doll somewhere where I didn't have to buy it. I kept trying to use it to see if i could see the Lady but I never got it to work.

You can buy a Lady Of Pain Doll from Virishka in the Upper Ward. If that is the problem, but why would you want one anyway?

Yeah, the patch removed it. Pre-patched it was in the table. You can pray to it for 10-20 times & when you next exit the screen the Lady will come to maze you.

I just hate it when I know something is there and I have found it before but then I can't find it my next time through, makes me feel incomplete. :p Thanks for the info Blackrose!

A few more questions... does Morte lose all his inventory after he is released from Lothar? Or is there a way of getting his stuff back?

I also figured out what the cheese is for. You can keep feeding it to Mantuok and he will gobble it up over and over again. :D

Morte's stuff should be where he dropped it, try looking close to the weapons trainer.

Is there even anything to do with the doll?

Morte doesn't keep his stuff when he's "kidnapped," so be sure you look where he was last seen. You'll find his stuff lying on the groud.

Yeah, 45 gp, a stinger earring, and probably the largest library in that dimension. Pharod was a man of unusual tastes. ;)

Buy the poisoned cheese.
All that can go wrong, will, unless it doesn't, but then, it might anyway.
