Dak'kon's Zerth Blade is in BG2
Dak'kon's Zerth Blade is in BG2
Anyone notice that you can buy Dak'kon's blade in BG2? Kind of useless though seeing how I have to fighter/mages. Quite pricey too.
It also seems somewhat ridiculous to have Dak'Kon's personal sword in Athkalta, i was quite miffed when i saw it. It is after al la moon blade and is aligned with Dak'Kons spirit, you wouldn't be able to use it anyway. How the hell does it get from he negative material plane to Athkalta?

The Blade is part of Deidre's stash, up in the Adventurer's Mart. Once you've added on the additional merchants (available now online, from a variety of sites), you get Deidre with P:T gear, and that guy over in the Copper Coronet who offers IWD gear.
Of course, it's only approximate, and the values of Dak'kon's blade in P:T aren't truly mirrored in BG2. For one thing, his blade morphed in its abilities according to his level and feelings about your morality. I'd have been more pleased if Dak'kon himself had briefly wandered through, as he traveled the doors of the dimensions.

But would you have slayed him to get his swordOriginally posted by fable:

I agree with Fable and mr Sleep here.
It feels a bit cheap that a very special item like his sword is thown into a BG2 shop. No one else than Dak'kon is even supposed to be able to use it, and I understand the blade is useless without the man, isn't it sort of wasting away without his will and spirit?

It could have been worse. It could have been a crown marked "Britannia" that Deidre sold, which immediately triggered an endlessly repetitive Rule Brittania whenever you touched it. (Ultima joke)

I completely agree, if they wanted to make a crossover why not place a moonblade in BG2 That would have been a cool option with the KensaiOriginally posted by Blackrose:
iirc Dak'kon says the sword is a piece of Limbo (whatever that is); without Dak'kon it is just shapeless matter (if Limbo can be said to be matter). I was quite angry when I saw it in the shop and I've haven't used it in any of my games.

Isn't Union Jack supposed to be just a union between all the UK countries? OK, I see St George and St Andrews. But no Welsh emblem, and no green colour (Wales flag is white and green with a red emblem of a griffin or lion, right?) What about Northen Ireland?Originally posted by Mr Sleep:
It would also send every Welsh player into a state of Bezerk.
BTW look at the British flag, do you see any Welsh emblam on there, i htought not
I will never go anywhere near Dak'kon's sword in BG. I view it as a fake copy

You are indeed correct the Welsh flag features a dragon though. Ireland and Wales are left out of the Union Jack for some reason, it narks me off, i am not a particularly hateful person, but this gets on my nervesOriginally posted by C Elegans:

@Sleep, consider the BBC's "theme song," since their creation back in the 1930's: Lilibulero, an old 18th century tune originally set to words deriding the Irish. It's surprised me that there's never been any diplomatic initiative to get that changed--after all, the Brits banished Big Ben's traditional chimes from the BBC a few years back.

Limbo is a plane. Everything there, cities, things, weapons are shaped through sheer will and concentration, thus almost nobody on the Prime Material plane could use it...Originally posted by Blackrose:
