How can I pause BG in inventory screen ?

Post by Amidala »

My freshly patched and bugfixed BG deactivates pause whenever I am in the inventory screen.
Is there a pause option for that ?

As far as I know, there is nothing that can be done about it. However, if there is, I'd certainly be interested in knowing about it.

Its hardcoded into the executable... so its virtually impossible. But like the XP Cap remover if someone distributed a patch for the exe to make it pause then it is still legal.

Play in ,ultiplayer mode, then the game stays paused in the inventory!
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

In a single-player game, the game unpauses in the inventory screen automatically. It's their way of saying that you shouldn't be digging around in yer backpack when there's a monster approaching.

"Hmm... where's my sword? I know it was in here last time I ch--ugh!"

Yea the game automatically unpauses itself when you start digging through your backpack. But I'm pretty sure that this doesn't happen in BG2 or IWD. Makes you wonder.

The whole basis on the unpause-invetory was so that you couldn't change equipment that would best suit a monster... most frequently it was to do with fighers/mages who needed to access their arsnal of spells by taking their armor off.

In BG2 they balanced it out by saying that you can't remove or change armor while in combat.

Maybe the idea is that when you are playing IWD or BG2, ofcourse after clearing BG1, your character is so experienced, he can put his hand in his backpack and find what he needs without looking.
Kinda like a marine or a S.E.A.L
Though I still can't figure out how to put on a 70 kilo armor in 2 sec.
