2 Manual of Bodily Health? *spolier*

Post by ColeFrost »

My game was not patched.
I entered into the flesh golem's cave alone,
left my party outside. Then i took the tome, removed all my NPCs and went out. Then i took my NPCs back and went into the cave again.
Not only the flesh golems respawned itselves but the items and the tome were being respawned as well.
A bug?

I had similar problem (or not) in FAI area. Each time I went into the Inn and came out, I found most of maps were not explored, as if I had just arrived and walked straight into the Inn. I got a few Rings of Wizardly, and a ring for a minor quest (the one hobgblins stole from a girl).

MInerva, could you tell me EXACTLY where to get the ring? I went to the x and y coordinates in the walkthru, and it wasn't there! Seen as you have got it, could you tell me?
I'm gonna make another post about this, but it's not spam, I'm just asking incase noone looks at this one

Yeah, according to Gamebanhsee's walkthrough:

7- SPOILER (LOCATION: X 2555, Y 3759):

At the base of the pine tree there is a small hole (easy to miss). Search it and you’ll find a Ring of Wizardry(doubles the amount of 1st level spells a mage can memorize, worth 9000 gp. in a shop!).

Note: As far as we know, the ring is still there once you have installed ToSC and the latest patch.

HOWEVER, i remembered finding it using Desslok's guide, and:

>>Hidden at coordinates x=2553, y=3757 (use the L key to find your current location) is a ring of wizardry.

Try getting it: It's a very good item for BG1, and would be WILD for BG2, if you know what i mean (nahal's reckless dwemover (?) is uber cheese ;) )

too bad that you can't get more than 9 (or 10 ?) spells in any level due to limitations of the infinite engine
Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

AGGH I went to thos exact coordinates... not there! I had a thought though, could it have been ADDED in one of the later patches?
Also, can you tell me if it is in the gorund or in the tree? this could really help

IIRC, it's on the ground, a sort of bush there. Definitely not *in* the tree (unlike a diamond and Wand of Frost in the separate area).

I'm not really sure which patch add/remove the ring. My original game didn't have the ring there, but now it is there with ToSC and a patch installed. I cannot remember if I installed the patch before the ToSC or after...

If you have ToSC installed, you don't need the disk for patch. It should automatically install the patch. (though I'm not sure if letting your CD to friend in order to use on the different computer is allowed...)

It may worth check the download page of this site.

I had edwin with both rings of wizardry through most of BG1 and by the end he had about 16 level 1 spells, furthermore he had no problem using them albiet you couldn't guarentee that you had picked the correct spells from the 13th upwards as it went off the screen but they were all castable.
Just remember, everyone is entitled to my opinion
