Hey craig what is your group looking like...

I didn't have the toughest group, but I had one really good and a couple more OK fighters, and I was having a pretty tough time with this fight. What I eventually did was just went all out on those stupid Doppelgangers -

I buffed up and hasted out in the first room that you come in before you enter the coronation room, and I had everyone drink potions to get their THACO down low I also used potions of mind focussing on everyone so their DEX would be high, which helps AC and missile attacks. I had fighters drink Strength potions too. I charged into the coronation room through BOTH doors, too, so I could get into position better since your group gets bunched up going through one door.

So like I say, I hasted everyone and then rushed into the room. I had my best fighter right next to the people you have to protect, and my other fighters right in the middle when the dialogue started. So once the doppelgangers attacked, I had a buffed up blessed, hasted fighter in everyone's face, and acid arrows and sling bullets coming in fast and accurate :) I had Imoen with the bracers of archery I think for fire support. Dynaheir shot magic missiles too. I tried the battle a number of times, I think I might have had a troop of skeletons in there just to help out, but I think the biggest difference was made by having everyone drink potions and hasted.

Hope that helps.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

Also, once the doppelgangers were about dead, I cast entangle on Sarevok so he couldn't attack and then pelted him with missile weapons. :D

I don't know what's worse, that you got "Duchal" right in the heading or that you got "Palace" wrong.
Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, WATCH IT! I'm HUGE!!

Toss in a dispel magic, it makes it so much easier :)

I have never had probs with this fight, so I'd say dispel magic, haste your party, and make sure that you slink in through the right door and form up down the right side of the room. Then send one of your party at Sarevok to start off the scene (your toughest fighter).

As long as the Flaming Fist are alive (and I've never lost one yet), Sarevok should be no probs.

If it causes you probs, remember, this is a big fight, use those potions you've been saving :)
