I don't believe there is a helm of opposite alignment in the game. According to the walkthrough/equipment section, it isn't there. It wouldn't really serve much purpose anyone since all reactions are based upon charisma and reputation.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

All in-party fights are based on simple presence of so-and-so, so it wouldn't do any good there either.

Still... I vaguely recall having found the damn thing somewhere. The item file certainly is[/i] there, and you can CLUA the thing in if you like.

Thanx guys, maybe you're right!
The problem is that I play without cheating,
so i would like to find it if actually is
somewhere.
I just read of people who have it even in BG2, and I've heard that givin' it to Viconia in BG1 changes things a little!
Thanx anyway!

There is a belt of opposite alignment that is part of a quest you can do early on, killing a Ogre in the area just south of CandleKeep.
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

I believe that belt changes your gender, not alignment.

I don't know though, I've been through BG a lot and I've never found it. Weird it can be CLUA'ed in. The equipment section here mentions nothing about in the helms or girdles section.

i heard it was on the deamon knight in the tower the first time you see him when you take the tour. when you kill him at the bottom of the tower, he dosent have it, only upstairs. since he casts a fire ball spell then vanishes, good luck! ive also heard of someone killin him using the wand of sleep, then blasting him. might take allot of reloads, though.

If enough people die on the entry level, he comes back! One of the toughest fights in the game, but a lot of fun. :)

Ive found the helm of opposite alignment, dont remember where, but I do remember gettign Tiax, saw he was really evil and decided to use it on him to make him good. Then i threw away tiax cuz he sucked as a cleric. I forget where I found it though
It's pretty easy, I mean just go kill a dragon, get laid.

Noooooo!! Vinin, please!!! I'm going mad!
Fascinating the story about the entry level
in durlag's tower (if it's true I'll never know, I' ve just played it again, no turning
back!).
But I suppose Vinin didn't killed the Demon
immediatly, am I wrong?
So the helm has to be elsewhere.
But... WHERE!?!?!?! :(
I know, there are other things in life... :p

SPOILER

The helm is on the death knight if - and only if - you take the tour with Ike.
It's on his body after you kill him on the lowest level.

Well, I've always done the tour...
maybe something is wrong with my copy.
Or maybe the latest patch removed it! :(

What is your source for this information? I always take the tour, and have never found the helmet on his body in the lower level.

Duncan Clay's area guide lists the following items as in the definition files but not available in the game. (BG, not sure about TotSC). I've never found any of them either:

Spear +3, Backbiter CURSED
Studded Leather Armor +2, Missile Attraction CURSED
Helmet of Opposite Alignment
Helmet of Charm Protection
Bolt of Polymorphing
Resistance to Tyrants is Service to God.

I recently found the bolt of polymorphing as well. It was somewhere in Baldur's Gate city, I think on one of the mages in Sorecerous Sundries.
