Xyx, I've run into the same problem with Kivan.

I think it's just a sound cross. Take Kivan with you, and chum around until he gets tired, and listen to what he says.

Reminds me of a Lilarcor mistake in BG2. Keep talking to him, and at one point, the swords little speech gets cut off.

Yup and its not a switch with the Sound01X(or whatever it is) it is in both
