i have played BG2 and simply loved it beyond beleif and the question is should i play BG1 and TOSC or simply wait for the xpansion and NWN to come out and buy them ??!

Do play BG1!! It is a great game and fun.
And you can have tomes to raise your original stats. It's worth it, especially many shops sell them bargain price now.

I have played both and found BGII to have greater depth and replayability. However, this being said, if you have not played BGI I would highly recommend it. It will have a sligthly different feel to it but it is an enjoyable game none the less. Just make sure you get the expansion pack.
Buy High Sell Low - I always say!
