Sarevok won?

Considering Drizzt whupped my parties ass when I tried to get his nice scimitar on his own and then Sarevok with hordes of thugs falls at my sword.

I think very few people have beaten Drizzt with their party (NO cheats :p ) and nearly everyone have beaten Sarevok & Co.

But remember D&D is partialy ( probably fully :) ) based around chance so probably pitch 'em against each other a few times and you might get various outcomes...

also consider armor class, weapons and at what point you meet them in the game.

IIRC you can meet Drizzt in Chapter 4 in one of the out door zones west of Beregost...
hehe, he asks you to help him kill some kobolds or summat with him and I only managed to kill 2 before he killed them all  .

Actually you could meet drizzt in any chapter : I'm now in chapter 2 and I have already met Drizzt.

And this Sarevok ? really strange thing because Sarevok is not so good as the Drizzt is (ressists , hp, equipment)
So sayeh

I also hardly bashed the first Gnoll before Drizzt finished the 20 or so others...

I tried taking him on for the un-pickpocketable chainmail, but I was waaay out of his league. Sarevok didn't give me too much trouble, but then again, I was 2 levels higher and had better equipment by that time.

Even a high level party can't beat Drizzt in a "fair" fight, that is without summening armies of monters or the "island-trick".

I believe level 16 ranger. But that's not why he's so hard to kill. It's all the resistances.

The battle against Drizzt is one of the hardest in BG if you choose to fight him.....but with a good tactict and an adequate party (not a low lvl party...) you can beat him.

Yes Drizzt won!

Going by the book he is a level 15 Drow Ranger. He also carries a Frostbrand +3 and Defender +5 dual wielded scimitars and wears Mithril chain mail +4.

A worthy ally! ;)

The Island-trick can be done with even the lowest level party. Be sure to store up on projectiles. Go to Drizzt's Area. Help him kill the gnolls. Next move your party to the most southern tip of the island in the lake, north of Drizzt (you can reach the island from the north side of the lake only).
One party-member goes back to Drizzt. Drink potion of speed and shoot at him. He will attack you. Lure him to the lake shore, just to the south of the island, where your archers can reach him. When he's there drink a potion of invisibility and let the other five open fire on Drizzt. Move the invisible member back to the island to help the others. Drizzt will just stand there and take it. It will take a lot of arrows and a few minutes to finish him of. Check regularly if your archers still have enough arrows ready.

Simple. Always works.

But you might feel guilty afterwards. Still, you need those scimitars: he's doing nothing to stop Sarevok, is he?

Well Drizzt should whoop Sarevok's ass, considering the fact that he was a level 18 fighter in the Underdark, and now a level 16 ranger which makes him like a level 21 warrior, plus if he gets pissed enough he gets his "hunter" rage which makes him like a level 25 warrior powerful enough even to have beaten the best drow warrior, Zak.
But then Sarevok has the "godly" advantage being a Bhaal spawn.

I will just say that Drizzt's scimitars Rocks ! And his Mithril chain +4 is allso pretty nice :) But it is way to easy to kill Drizzt... just get a hold of a wand of monster summoning and summon a big army and surround him.... he cant do a thing (offcourse it would be a good idea to have a archer to shot at him). The same thing with Sarevok... just summon a big army of monsters (offcourse i have did it without summoning )

One way to kick drizzt ass with lowlvl char. is 1 fighter with best armor and haste. Then others use missile weapons.
