I am soloing a, ahem, kensai/mage, and a can't seem to get the mage stronghold. I killed Valgyar, got into the spere and completed the quests, but when i return to the sphere after the necromancer has died outside, the solamnic knights just go away and no wizard appears. I have not killed the all the monsters inside, because i can't seem to kill the clay golems (despite the fact that i have flail of the ages and 1 thac0). Additionally i happen to kill Tolgerias before he could initiate dialog. Could that be the prob?
Grateful for answers.

You shouldn't let him outside if you already have the Keep. So killing him before dialog is great mistake. The sequence should be following:
you make him "near deth";
he tell you about Demon's heart;
you get the heart;
you speak with him last time (it's Athala already); he asks you to bring him out to see the sky last time; if you already have the Keep you should refuse (otherwise - as you wish);

No, he's talking about Tolergias the Cowled Wizard, not Lavok, the Lich-wannabe, right? I don't know it could be that A) It's cause you killed someone needed in the script to progress and get the keep, B) It's a glitch or C)I don't know about this one but, If you already own Nalia's Father's Keep maybe you can't have 2 keeps? Hope it helps

Well, i was wrong.
All i said was about Lavok.
As for Tolgeras, i do not know for sure, nevertheless he say nothing important, so, i believe, it is only one more battle. He is blue initially only to let you come neat, he never cares if you has something to answer.
About 2 strongholds. Quite right, you're supposed to have only one. However it is not implemented properly - save if you have Kevin's patch. So without this patch you may even have three strongholds if you are trial-classed (thief/fighter/mage), of course, if you know how. There are several threads bellow discussing this.

Killing Tolgerias without dialogue doesn't seem to have any effect I usually do it this way.
Did Lavoc give you the sphere? He should have said something like "I give you the sphere as payment for your service".
If he did give it to you I suppose it's a bug. If not, you probably already have Nalias castle and Kevin Dorners patch. Even without the patch you sometimes don't get two strongholds.

Lavoc leaves the Sphere to your care if he recognizes you as mage (multi or singleclass or sorcerer). Without Kevin's patch you may already have a stronghold, though then you should refuse his Lavoc's last wish, you should let him die indoors.Originally posted by Angelus:
