Ulgoth's Beard is found by going north from the screen just east of Baldurs Gate city (The brigde IIRC)

Durlags Tower was also available in BG1 (w/o ToSC) and is found a couple of screen east and IIRC a little south of Berghost(sp?)

Hope this helps

Just to clarify: Durlag's Tower is on the BG1 map, but the quest isn't available without the TOSC expansion.

Am I mistaken, but IIRC then the top 3 levels where accesible, but not the lower levels?

You may be right. I never tried it w/o the expansion.

Nope, I don't think so. I played 3 characters thru the original BG without ToSC and I can tell you there's no Durlag's Tower. Unless you're getting confused with the Firewine Bridge or Ulcaster's School.

I found out all about how the world map gets modified when the expansion is installed when I tried to use a modified savegame in the non-expanded version. As soon as I tried to move to another area the game would crash to the desktop.

NPC's discuss Durlag's Tower (in Gullykin you are asked if you're going there - "Not today, tell me about the Firewine ruins" you say). But you cannot access it. Once ToSC is installed you can just stroll there without going to Ulgoth's beard. :)

I´m I really this stupid?? I played BG to the end without Ulgoth´s Beard or Durlag´s Tower showing on the map. After that I run the TOSC cd and started with final-save. The story begin in the Ulgoth´s Beard, but on the map it shows that i´m on the eastside of Baldur´s Gate. I can´t find the way at Durlag´s Tower eighter. Why won´t those places apear to me. Do I have start the game from the beginning again???

To put Ulgoth's Beard on your World Map: Exit the BG's Gate Bridge map on the north side. You can reach the rest of the new areas from there by talking to the right people.

You can reach Durlag's Tower directly by exiting the Nashkel Carnival Map on the east side.

Tried that, don´t work. When talking to some people, I´ve got the message "your map has been updated" but nothing ever happens. When I tried with starting a new game, I was aple to reach both places. Is that the only way? I had finnished BG befofre running TOSC cd.

Hmm, I don't recall having that problem. Did you try loading the Final Save and going from there?

If you need to get to Ulgoth's Beards and you have the expansion go north from either the bandit camp or the Ankheg area. Then speak to people outside the tavern and they offer to take you to Durlag's tower (for a price!)

Hope this helps!
