how do you find it, i've speoken to the mayor of the hobit village, and the options that are offered do not allow me to find the tower, I need help here...

Durlag's tower is only available if you have Tales of the Sword Coast installed. The tower is located south-west from the Firewine Bridge.

It's easiest going to Ulgoth's Beard first, since that way you start all the related quests.

Assuming you have TotSC installed, Durlags Tower will be on your map. To get about entering it, you need to speak to the tour guide at Ulgoths Beard.
