Best single-class?
I´d like to bring up the old discussion of the best protagonist-character but this time Multi and dual-class excluded! I for example beleive the Monk is the most powerful with enourmos advantages and not-so-disturbing withdraws... Tell me what you think!
I wager the turnip market is making a killing today!

The best class IMO is the sorceror, this is a killing machine if used right. A lot of high level mage spells are simplely out of control, like chain contingency, you can put three AD horrid wiltings in it, the casting time is ZERO, the "alacrity" is ZERO, so you can cast other spells in the same round, yeah more chain contingencies with more AD horrid wiltings, go figure, this guy can kill Demogorgon, Mellisan, Ravager in just one round, that's insane methinks.

im gonna have to go with the sorc. chain contingency 3 AD, then cast improved alacitrt, then in that chain another 3 AD and cast all your 5 dragon's breath almost instantly. wow, thats bad.
And that's the bottom line, 'cos Stoner Cold said so!

I'm voting for Undead Hunter, especially if you prefer good aligned parties. I prefer playing fighters cause I pretty much consider Imoen, Aerie and Jaheira to be must haves in my party, and as far as I'm concerned the Undead Hunter blows every other fighter class or kit away.
The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing.
Having experimented with Fighter, Wizard Slayer, Assasin, Cavalier, and Barbarian I have had the easiest go of it with the Assasin. For battles in the Twisted rune, I backstabbed both The pesky mage who gates, and the Vamp. Againest Kangaxx, I backstabbed the lich form, and killed him. For the semi-final battle against Irenicus, I backstabbed and killed him. Against Gromnir, backstab strikes again. Also, the detect traps, and lock pick, and theiving ing general allows easy XP, and easy money.
I agree with Aegis. Assassin is the way to go.
Solo Jester was just as fun though

Any body passing through solid matter will leave a perforation conforming to its perimeter. Also called the silhouette of passage, this phenomenon is the speciality of victims of directed-pressure explosions and of reckless cowards who are so eager to escape that they exit directly through the wall of a house, leaving a cookie-cutout-perfect hole. The threat of skunks or matrimony often catalyzes this reaction.

Swash buckler baby, Amazing AC and fighting bonuses, Use any item, the best thieving skills of any kit. Best of all, they are ultra versatile once the get use any item, excellent for solo. My ToB S.B has a natural ac of -5. - 5 !!!
Plus white dragon scale -17, gaxx, - 19, harper necklace -21, ioun stones -22. Nothing can hit him. Youd have to have a thaco of - 22 to score a critical hit

This medallion is highly sought after by both thieves and bards, though for different reasons. In addition to providing powerful magical protection against physical attacks, the amulet increases the wearer's proficiency in several rogue skills. But even more valuable, from the bard's perspective, is the amulet's ability to grant the wearer immunity to all forms of silence.

+3 bonus to AC

You can find the Amulet of the Master Harper on the Fire Elemental Prince, Imix, in Yaga-Shura's bedroom in the Marching Mountains.

I say sorc. There is no battle you can lose if you do the following things. CC 3x Mordekaine (see enemy). You also need staff of magi, robe of vecna and amulet of power. Now you get -6 to casting time wich is great. When the battle begins the swords come out. If the enemies are close you may want to retreat a bit. Then cast summon planetar or improved alacrity. If you chose improved alacrity cast timestop right after it. Pasue the game and put on the autopause "spell cast". Now you can cast most spells instantly because of -6 to spellcasting time. You might want to cast pierce magic and lower resistance on most enemies and then throw in some DB and AD. When timestop ends you have a really crappy fps and hell of a mess.

How many level 9 spell slots does this guy have? 8?Originally posted by Stoner Cold:

But, indeed, Chain Contingency is cheesy beyond repair.
Don't all rolls of 20 count as critical hits, regardless of AC?Originally posted by Knight Errant:

Me too. If you don't mind resting often, that is.Originally posted by Izgoth:

I went through with a swashbuckler and found that he has a signifigant disadvantage. Even though he has killer ac his attacks per round suffer. This combined with his sub-par thac0 make it difficult to hit the enemy frequently enough-- they are free to take shots at you because youre not disrupting their attacks often enough.
In my party Korgan was whoopin' while my swash was basically serving as a decoy. Has anyone noticed that Korgan is DA BOMB!?!
"Skullbreaker!!!"- Irenicus falls to the ground in one hit before his contingencies can come up and I'm drawn into the abys...
I should try the assasin though-- I REALLY underestimated him.
Extortionist and trained pain in the ass, at your service.
