Ok I checked into this using IE and she is listed as "no class" her .cre files are "SUELLE" and "SUELLE2" and "SUELLEAP". I would think she is a mage though, even though she is not listed as one.

I was just glancing through the manual and sure enough she's listed as a 16th level magic-user.

Anyoone know why other races (Elves and Dwaves) live as long as they do and don't max out their chosen proffesion. Elves live what 500-1000 years old if that's human years what the hell are they doing with all that time?

Take Ellesime for example she's has got to be a couple hundred years old and I bet she's much older than that, why's she only 16th level?

makes no sense

The way I figure, if you've got 1000 years, why rush it? You've got plenty of time left to max yourself out, if you even care all that much. What's the harm in the long run of just lazing around for a couple decades here and there? (hmm, I could really go for a decade of lazing around about now)

She may be several hundred years old, but she's a SPRY several hundred years old! Plus, she's supposed to look pretty darn good. Must be Tree of Life Extract (TM)

The reason that elfs and demihumans cannot get get to 30 levels (Ellisime is 16 level, that is the max for elves mages) is because that they live a long time and could (because they live longer that humans) dominate the campain world, its a something that is intruduced for balance.(elves can live al least 3 times the live of a human)
However there is a rule (optional) that makes then can reach any level, if requires double XP that is normal required to get to the next level after getting the racial limit.
Also the DM can simply ignore the racial limits al let the demihumans PCs get to the 30 level...

So there never was a good reason introduced in the D&D game world to explain why they don't dominate when because of there life span they should?

Just curious..

Well with the bonus that demihumans have, humans would have few (if any) people to play as a human...
Remenber that demihumans have a lot of advantages, like infravision, +1 to hit, imunites , magical resistance and better that all multiclass, humans cannot multiclass only dual class and that is not easy (I can play with a F/M elf with 16 Stg and 15 Int but a human cannot dual class with those stats).
And that is the reason, if not, with a live spam of several centuries, would have a lot of elven F/M of 20 level in both classes, it would be very easy to have elves, dwarfs and the other races dominating the campain world.
That is why....
And like I said, there is the slow advance rule or it could simply be ignored.
I forget that half-elves bards can advance to level 30, like humans.
There are worlds that elves dominate, similar there are worlds that dwarfs, halflings, gnomes, etc.. dominate, in Faerun humans dominate the world, for the moment .
