I need to know if you finished BG2 first then installed TOB or if you were near the end of BG2 and installed TOB, so when you finished BG2 you would trancfer directly into TOB.

I've always imported my game from SoA.
It may seem like I'm doing nothing, but on cellular level, I'm really quite busy...

Well, it would be better if you install ToB and then start a new SoA game - this way the cap is at 8 million, so you won't miss any of the experience from SoA. So you'll be able to transfer directly into ToB with a party above the 2.95 million experience mark.

I'd planned to fight the final SoA battle again, and move into ToB from there (so I didn't miss the stat bonuses).

However, I changed my mind. Having got TotSC, I decided to play through the entire series. Just to make it even better, I played through BG with the party BG2 acts as if you had.

It was brilliant, and I'm planning to do it again :) . This time I've got myself lots of improved AI and extra encounters for BG2.

I'm playing ToB the 2nd time now, and I have finished SoA before.

I played SoA until roght before I left Brynnlaw. I then installed ToB and finished the rest of SoA. After Jon fell, I played right through to ToB. This allows you to keep the bonuses you get with Jon's final battle (when you import you lose them).

I finished ToB with the XP cap of 8,000,000 for my protagonist(31st level Mage).

I was tempted to play it through straight away with my party of 6 from SoA (I had completed SoA without making it to the cap for even *one* of my six characters).

But I ended up making a new character, starting SoA again and going straight through to ToB. I made it *past* the 8million xp cap of ToB before I even hit Chapter 5 of SoA, so I installed an XP Cap remover to keep playing.

The game is still challenging, for a non-melee based Solo-ist, even with higher than 8million Xp....
Cheers,
