Freakin Draconis

Post by DraySkullan »

Okay, anybody got any good advice on how to smash this guy? Even when I dispel his protections, my tanks are never hitting this guy (in dragon form, the human form is easy). I've even set up traps before hand and led him to them, it always takes him to Near Death, and he heals himself before I can do any more damage.

+5 weapons, I think. Plus, lower his resistances and use magical attacks. You might want to keep him pinned down and busy with summoned critters, like greater skeletons--and even pit fiends. (Hell, what's a baby pit fiend, next to a dragon?)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

He probably has stoneskins up, so you hit but do no damage until the skins are gone. Hit him with Carsomyr or the Staff of the Magi, or hit him with some breaches.

Try a time stop, alacrity and then bombard him with spell protection removal. During the time stop set yo'self up with a spell trigger of pierce magic, breach, secret word. I don't know if you can use 7th level spells in a trigger so the whip and ruby ray are out. Summons won't keep him busy for long but the skeleton warriors will last a while due to their MR.

And THE JAKER's correct. Get rid of those stoneskins. When he gets them up, you've got to figure him a 25+ level mage so that's a lotta skinz. Keep pluggin' away and he'll fall. A couple of whirlwinds never hurts either.
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Another tactic (if you have a high-level thief) is to set a huge Dragon trap on the stairs. A bunch of spike and normal traps will rip straight through stoneskins and sink into that sweet dragon flesh beneath. Ahem.

I was able to kill him with about 5 spike traps. Just set them outside of his field of view and then lead him there. He'll drop dead with a big thump. Don't know about using regular snares though.

This the draconis guy outside of Abizigail's fortress? Yeah, use breach by one person, and resist magic from another...then summon an elemental prince if u can, a Planetar, and then smack him for all he's worth with a few Dragon's Breaths and that Horrid Wilting thing...with your fighters, a whirlwind and hardiness should come in useful...strangely enough, I don't use thieves...maybe I should though.

Yeah, I finally got him with traps. Had tried it before, but the invisible stalkers kept setting them off. He went down pretty quick this time. I used a creeping doom to get rid of the stalkers, hehe.

Well if you don't use spike traps this fight will be pretty tough....
the most annoying part is that he keep casting invisibility so even if you have true sight or whatever on he still disappear for a few sec and all the spells your trying to throw at him fails, I dunno if you could stop this if you cast glitter dust on him... somehow I doubt.
Cast energy blade would be nice, also throw in all the whrilwind or offensive spin if you have a blade or critical strike etc... he usually won't heal himself when you engage him in melee.. just keep the pressure on... also by them the spell regeneration should last quite a while that'll be helpful to keep your tanks alive.
Also remember death spell is a sure kill for his invisible stalker.

What also would work good is a couple of mordenkains swords. They will keep him busy then you can have more time to get of some other spells and greater whirl winds. ;)

Funny, I had much more trouble with Draconis than with Abizagal. He went down hard and fast.
