Kensai/Mage and stoneskin

Post by Angelus »

Well, I finally decided to try a kensai/mage, and I noticed that I can't cast the stoneskin spell from a scroll.

I can however learn it from a scroll and then cast it from the spell book. I also can cast all the other spells from scrolls, at least all that I encountered so far.
I tried some other fighter/mages and they don't seem to have that problem.

Is it supposed to be like that, or is that a bug of some kind?

Must be a bug. I had that, too. All Stoneskin scrolls were flagged 'unusable'.

That's because the kensai kit must have some common internal id number with the abjurer specialist mage, since stoneskin is an alteration spell (the opposition school of abjuration).
See if that happens with other alteration scrolls as well - fireshield red/blue, time stop, etc.

I played around some and there seem to be two different scrolls for stoneskin, one is this bugged one the other works just fine, however one needs Shadowkeeper to get it, since it's not in the game itself.

Yeah, sometimes i noticed that some of the stoneskin scrolls were with that color of unusable, but never tryed to cast it from scrolls. Also, my K/M has casted timestop (alteration) from scrolls without any problems (well, clones did teh casting :D )
Being an Evil Overlord seems to be a good career choice. It pays well, there are all sorts of perks and you can set your own hours. However every Evil Overlord I've read about in books or seen in movies invariably gets overthrown and destroyed in the end. I've noticed that no matter whether they are barbarian lords, deranged wizards, mad scientists or alien invaders, they always seem to make the same basic mistakes every single time. Therefore, if I ever happen to become an Evil Overlord, ...

It's just Stoneskin scrolls; all the other ones are fine...
