I hate dragons, esp. Draconis!

Post by Cinder_Lizard »

I can't kill Draconis. ANy help would be appreciated. For reference:
My party is as follows: Keldorn, Valygar, Jahiera, Aerie, Jan, and Locke (1/2 elf Thief/Mage)

The problems I have relate to his constant healing, turning invisible, and especially the wing buffet. It scatters my party and lets him pick of my mages. Invisible stalkers and magic resistance don't really help.

Thank you in advance for any help rendured :)

traps my friend any are good, also the upgraded bladesinger chain will defend you from his hand attacks while he is in human form, death spell deals with those stalkers and cast Magic resistence on draconis to lower his Magic res. :) :p ;) :D

His human form is pathetic. I always have to fight my way through his spell protections after his MR is lowered though. I'll keep the traps in mind, but since he keeps turning invisible, it's hard to lure him. I've been using Death Fog to kill the stalkers. It's more long-term.

I too had a hard time killing him untill I got him down to where he was barely hurt in dragon form and then I used my only 2 melee fighters( my main char. is a fighter and Minsc ) ability greater whirlwind attack... he went down in about 5 seconds. hope this helps ya.
The greatest love one can show to his friends is to die for them.

Yesterday I killed the bastard after reloading a couple of times, this is what I did:

First, send a supercharged tank to take him out, keep running until his protection stops, or use dispel its magic protection. He is not that tough in human form.

When the beast show its dragon form, I got all party members except for your most sturdy character out of sight of the dragon. I found there is a column on the upper part of the map where a person can hide and the dragon will not get him. I stayed there, wondering how the hell I could hurt him. Eventually, his magic protection wears off and he will be waiting for the character hiden behind the column. At this moment, I sent a solar, a deva, summoned monsters, my tanks using their special abilities and everybody else using missile weapons. The combined attack killed him, just remember that one character will get his full atention. Be sure of having plenty of healing potions and spells for this guy.

Since you have Keldorn, use his true sight abilities constantly. Give valyger potions of invis and let him backstab. make syre you have Jaheria cast insect plague.
May I ask why you have Jan in your party if you are also a thief/mage? I'd drop him and pick up minsc or sarevok just for this battle
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

How could you summon a solar? For any D&D guys out there, what is exactly a solar?

Oh, and 2 thieves to set traps, 2 (more) mages to cast spells. I think Jan is the best choice, since Minsc and Saerezok are lower level.

The quest spell is Deva, and Planetar for mage, Solar is who greets you in your poket plane and seems, by far, more powerfull than the former two...

A "Tank" is a term used on these boards meaning a frontline fighter. You know, the brawn not the brain :)

Hmm, just try the patched Draconis. THATS a tough fight, the original is 5 times easier at least

Just summon a bunch of mordekaines (immune to all his attacks) and a planetar, deva and/or a elemental prince. You might want to try claygolem too. He too is immune to most of his attacks. Then just stay back and wait for him to die. If not go finish him with a couple ww:s from your fighters.

I think you mean Abazigal. Oh yes, that is very very hard.

It doesn't have to be a Fighter, just someone who has effectively been put into a role where they go in, bash heads and take hits. A lot of people like to tank Aerie (beefed up by some spells and with certain weapons she's supposed to be very good).
