Montolio's Cloak

Post by Ode to a Grasshopper »

It says in the cloak's description that Montolio DeBrouchee was, like Drizzt, a master of dual-wielding.
However, if I remember correctly, in the Dark Elf Trilogy Mooshie fought with sword and shield. I think someone screwed up somewhere...

He was also a cool archer, even though he was blind. Yes he fought with sword and shield, along with a helmet, with an owl emblazoned on them.

Indeed, Montolio fought that battle against the Orcs with a sword and a shield. It might be that he used a shield to give himself some more protection during that battle (there were really quite a few Orcs hanging around ;) ) but used two weapons on other times. Or perhaps Montolio wielded two weapons before he became blind, and then switched to sword and shield...

Montolio also used Hooter the Owl to guide him when he fired his bow.

He also fought Drizzt in the globe of darkness using a sword and shield. Now I come to think about it, he says to Drizzt pretty specifically that he could never get the hang of dual-wielding.

I don't remerber the dialogues all *THAT* well. You're probably right.

Seems to me it's an oversight from the producers...

I don't think he says that he could never get the hang of using two weapons, he just expressed doubt that Drizzt would use two long blades usefully when Mooshie provides him with weapons.
