Barbarian/thief
Barbarian/thief
This should be a legal class. I have created one using SK and it is really cool.
I have taken Jan Jansen armour cause it suits me better. With that and defender of easthaven and belt of inertial barrier I am just one hardiness away from being invincible.
I heard that there is a patch that lets you dual your barbarian. Anyone know if this is true and where I can find it?
Also why did they change the Barbarian so that they don't get more resistant after level 19?

You can't handle the truth!

It all depends how you look at the kit. The Barbarian is labled as a warrior. And for a warrior to crouch in the shawdows, is not the way of a warrior. I have no problem with a barbarian hiding in the shawdows but he would get no attacks from the shawdows.
Your post mentioned Barbarian/thief. So what skills do you think the barbarian should get. And a ranger is not a thief he only gets stealth and only if his armour is off. And that could be a dangerous situation.

Also, it is a great class combo to play. Once the thief can use any item, just slap on that white dragon scale and still be able to hide in shadows.
They also are unable to specialize past two proficiency points. This being the case, I think my barb/th has points in short bow, crossbow, flail, long sword, halberd, two handed sword, scimitar, and so on. His inventory spots are taken up with all the different weapons he uses although ravager is quickly becoming the weapon of use. Throughout SoA, he dual wielded Celestial fury and flail of ages. It is a real fun class to play.

Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

How dare you say that about the all mighty Conan. He did not pickpocket he would just take it away from you.Originally posted by dranatos:

wasnt conan the barbarian a thief as well?
Come to think of it, why would a Barbarian need theif skills? Seriously?
If he wanted your purse of coin, he bludgeon it out of you, if he wanted to get into a locked box, he beat it, if he wanted to disarm a trap, he'd force some hapeless fool to walk onto it first. Seriously, it just doesnt make sense...

The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

On the other hand, if a Berserker can dual-class to a thief, it makes just as much sense for a Barbarian to be able to do the same thing.

ok i admit he would use more direct methods.
yeah conan was way cool, especially love the first few paragraphs in the first book. that got me hooked onto the books (originals).
Maybe instead of thinking of a barbarian picking up thief abilities, the class makes more sense if you think of a thief being particularly barbaric.Originally posted by Bruce Lee:
You are right, if a barbarian wanted to open a locked door he would bash it in, however a barbarian/thief would pick the lock. This class is not a barbarian, he is a barbarian/thief, a blend between the two.
I still have trouble with the stealth, pick pockets, and open locks abilities accompanying a barbarian class. Detect illusion, detect & set traps make perfect sense to me - they would fit in with the barbarian class fine.
A barbarian/thief in the shadows, hmm...wouldn't the smell give him/her away? And how to suppress the urge to give a great war cry long enough to backstab...i dunno...
