Well, probably the best part is that its the conclusion to the Bhaal saga. Along with that it is jam packed with new weapons that are great. Think + 5 and 6. Several new quests all built around the main quest. It's a bit linear but still good. you also get a new class and new NPC. But those I'll leave for you to find out.

Also a bunch of new spells and skills, the latter mainly for non-spellcasters--like the ability for high-level thieves to use *any* item, weapon or armor.

And unlike SoA, you can download some "unofficial" patches to make the fights a proper challenge :)
Past: Ascension
Present: The Broken Hourglass
Future: Return to Windspear, Imoen Relationship

You can erase spells from your spellbook and mage/clerics have a handy dandy button in the spell selection thing where you choose what spell you're gonna cast that switches between mage spells and cleric spells. And of course the XP cap is up to 8 mil

Suffice to say, it's much better than BG2.
All that can go wrong, will, unless it doesn't, but then, it might anyway.

You always can to get or to leave it ;) The rest depends on your nature ... well, rather on nature of hero of your's ... :D
BTW, there were some spoilers before on the board regarding outcome and what happens with PC and NPC ... there is more than one ending anyway
