Poll on what enemies you want in my expansion...
Ok now that Gorins Area Editor is up and running again, I can proceed with my unofficial expansion for BG2. I need to know what enemies you want for this expansion though.
This was the idea I came up with a while back but was unable to implement due to no Area editor: Areas with different monsters that respawn so you can return for gold, treasure and stuff (like in bg1). I have been looking at the cre files to see what monsters give good treasure and items, and would provide a challenge. Any ideas? I want to use some of the areas from bg1 in this expansion.Any favorites?

Lolth and her handmaidens would be nice.
How 'bout driders? They've always been cool.
My problem is, all the cool creatures are for lower levels than the god-like ones we're to be playing at. IMHO, the only cool mansters left to fight are gods
...and eachother

Did anyone ever play Menzoberranzan? That was a cool game with lots of cool monsters. I think you are on to something with the Lolth idea. Maybe Drizzt could make a cameo? If you could it would be neat to make a drow city. That way you could enter and kick butt. THe only thing is it should be bigger and tougher than the city in the game.
Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice WATCH IT, I'm huge!

Hmm, I like the dark elves/Lloth aspect, How much Hps you think a Deity like Lloth should have? I can make her have good AI, so I dont know if she needs alot of hps, but then again she is a god...

One of my all time Favorite AD&D Monsters was the Death Knight. He had some key weaknesses which should be addressed so don't use the stats listed in the manual. Here's the base stats listed for the Death Knight
Lvl 9 Anti-Paladin
Undead but cannot be turned, full undead immunities
Once per day 20d6 fireball, power word kill, symbol of death, Gate.
Innate abilities: protection from good/evil, detect invisbility, Fear 10' radius, super natural 18/00 strength, +1 or better weapon to hit, Ice storm at will, dispel magic at lvl 20 skill.
Always wields some kind of a magic two handed sword
75% magic resistance
The Death Knight is a rare creature created when a demon lord perverts a fallen paladin to the side of evil. It is a natural leader of evil creatures and having be a part of a 'grunt' role wouldn't be fitting. The most famous death knight was Lord Soth from the Dragon Lance series.
I suggest that it's level be increased anywhere from 15 to 20. Using the model and combat abilities of the Demon Knights with some of the added abilities I listed here could be a good opponent. I suggest a script where the Death Knight casts Gate upon seeing the players much like Mages currently cast spells when seeing players now.

How about some of the demonlords from PnP D&D, MM1&2?
Displacer Beasts? Too low level, but they're cool.
Rust monsters would be horrible! I always hated them, but...
Quicklings would be cool, but probably annoying.
Funny thing is, I remember fighting Lolth as a lvl 13 cleric in PnP D&D ages ago. We won, too! Oh, how times have changed.

Well, without reflecting cloak or shield, any one of those Orbs can be tough. But you're right, Elder Orbs are the toughest, especially because of imprisonment. I think Elder Orbs are 100% resistant to magic too, but Directors have higher resistance to fire and other things ... Anyway, I dunno, just to mix it up. I like the lesser demon lords more.
I will try to use these in Manveru and My upcoming expansion, Great ideas all. Craig I like the warrior lich idea. Also I do not think I will be able to use custom animations so Lloth will have to look like a fenale drow...I was going to use an Animation from Icewind dale for her but ran into problems.
