Yeah, spellcasters can easily play it through. I just wonder whether a plain warrior can do it without the SoA items and weapon immunity (Fear tear bonus).

No, dont be silly, its impossible.

j/k. I havent finished yet, I got bored, but it is possible. Your little bag of holding gives you some decent stuff, rings +1 and armour etc, useful, specially seeing as how you can sell it all. I'm pretty sure someone out there has done it.

Vanilla fighter could be kind of tough, hacking through everyone, but hey, it works.
I gave the Wizard slayer a try. Poor ac due to lack of rings, and I was at 17 str, so that was no good. The MR was nice though...
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

WITHOUT patches it wouldnt be too hard even as a fighter, but with them i can see problems.. Maybe magicians could, but to rest after each battle.. boring!

I cant think of any single fight that would cause a problem for a berzerker dwarf for example, solo.. Especially since you dont have to beat demogorgon.

Rest? bah! Abuse the wish spell. Heard of some guy who did all of TOB in 2 days (game time). Play a sorc and you won't even have to scroll hunt. :D

I made it right up to the final battle (which i am still tryin to win) with a ranger cleric (duel) . Stoneskins , firestorms and creeping doom are really great for big groups. Im also useing valygars armor so he can hide in shadows , very handy for much of ToB. Also the summon 5 skel warriors helps a ton.

That must have been with 2 sleeps (not 2 days)! And it can be even less with an imported (from SoA final) character.

Actually, demogorgon is pretty much an easy fight for a berserker dwarf. Him and his cronies have major issues hitting low AR.

I soloed a gnomish illusionist/fighter on Insane difficulty from BG1 through Throne of Bhaal. I was going to write it all down, but I got lazy.

Hardest fight in all three games? That Friggin mage at the steps of the Friendly Arms in! I level five mage vs a 1/1 fighter illusionist is near friggin impossible. I had to go level up (which took forever) before I could take him on.

I didn't have a problem with anyone until the final battle, which I had to replay only twice (damn fallen Solar!)

DaJir: With regards to your "friend" who bragged that he could finish ToB in 2 game days.. dont believe a WORD he says! I mean.. think about it.. it already takes a few hours TRAVELLING from place to place (a minimum of two days altogether!) and what about fighting and the ocassional rest?

Gullibility is NOT a vitue. :) jk.

I'd like to see someone who beat the final battle solo without wish cheese, trap cheese, or summon cheese.

Anybody?

Any solo warrior can do it (no wish, no traps): I did it with a Beastmaster once (no big secret items). I think it can be done with a Sorcerer or a Wild Mage (even without items).

Jebus...how to take down Mellisan solo? Rest of ToB wasn't much trouble for a berserker, but I can't kill Mellisan more than once...

Well, define wish cheese, my insane solo fighter/illusionist used wish to rest once, but cast it from memorization (three times IIRC), and not from simmys or a projected image.

Quite easy really, just focus all attacks on Mellisan, stoneskins and mirror image really cut down on the damage, and you can use limited wish to recharge some of these. A few rods of ressurection help with healing.

I probably could have done the entire batte without a wish, if I had taken it a bit slower.

Heh, back after a few months

@Lykwid

I did beat Melissan with a Ranger/Cleric myself. Soloed from BG1 to ToB, insane difficulty. Hope you saved your (I think there were 2 in the game) Prot from Magic scrolls. They keep her from casting mage spells (not priest tho). Casting those at her later incarnations will make this battle doable. Still, I had to use every single asset I had to beat her. Try to save Vhailor's helm for the 4th incarnation.

@UberJason

The FriendlyArm mage is doable with a lvl 1 soloer. Even with double damage. I needed: Potion of Haste (stolen from Imoen before I dumped her), PoClarity (chest, candlekeep inn, upstairs; to keep horror from affecting me) and getting as many guards I could near the mage before he started the dialogue.
