Choice of Cleric

Post by Minerva »

I played my first SoA with the following party (long time ago):

PC (fighter dual to mage at level 9)
Keldorn
Valygar
Imoen
Jaheira
Aerie

Recently, I've got ToB and am reforming my party. Firstly, I replaced Valygar with Sarevok. Now, I am wondering if I should drop Aerie for Viconia (I like having both cleric and druid for different use). Anomen is out of question, because I didn't keep him long enough to make him knighted. Also, my pc is female, so I have no concern for romance story line.

Viconia is better cleric with higher wisdom and levelling faster than Aerie. However, it's a good aligned party with reputation 20 and led by Keldorn, so I suspect she might leave or come to blow with someone soon. Also, as the multi-class, Aerie gains more special abilities. She has more exp points in total as well, because she travelled through the whole SoA.

Any opinion will be appreciated.

Thanks.

...depending upon the replies you provide in conversations with Saverok, his alignment can shift from evil to neutral.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Minerva - your're right. If Keldorn and Viconia are in the same party they will attack each other eventually, and with a high rep she will leave anyway. My guess is that Aerie would be a better cleric in your party. Hope this helps. :)

That's a good point, i didn't think of that. Ok, they're pretty much evenly matched, so it comes down to whose whining you can stand the most - Viconia about the reputation or Aerie about... everything... :)

If you decide to go with Viconia SK in the Cloak of Balduran. Then give her the Amulet of 10% Magic Resistance, and she will have 100% MR.

You've already got 2 mages, you don't need Aerie as well. Just build up Viconia's xp with the unlimited Fire Giants in Saradush. BTW, with ToB installed evil characters won't leave your party if your reputation goes too high. They'll still whine a fair bit, though.
