@Reigns - Buck is a very busy man we should be grateful not scornful
After all it wasn't Buck that posted the spoilers was it? The responsibility has always been with the posters to alert other members - and I agree that does not happen often enough...
Thanks Buck!

rapier, you're a ****.
@Regins
Did you alert Buck to the spoilers? The time I told him about a spoiler, it was gone within 5 minutes. Then I ran into a couple more, and posted my argument over on the GD board, as to why we needed a seperate ToB board.
Thus we have one.
Action works.

I really don't understand the second forum thing at all. ToB is an expansion, not another game. wtf? I guess some people are just extremely anal control freaks that can't handle reading a spoiler even when it is clearly labeled "spoiler" with ample room given to pass it by. is there some confusion as to what the label "spoiler" means? if you don't want to read it, then don't read it!
this message is primarily directed at quitch for chiding me after I posted a clearly marked, and relavant, ToB spoiler in the SoA forum.

"ToB is an expansion, not another game."
Heh... well TOB may officialy be an "expansion" but basicaly most of it works like a new game.
Compare TOB to the BG1 expansion:
1. In TOSC the areas were added to the main map (and accessable anytime), and changes were made to the original game to compensate for the characters increased power (from added items and increased XP cap).
2. In TOB only one area/dungeon is added to the old game. The rest are not added till you start a TOB game, and at that point you can't go back to the older areas. Yes it does affect SOA, but in more of a chessy way than as an expansion. That is I mean the "big bosses" of SOA are not made any tougher, even though the characters are made insanely powerful (if TOB is installed).
The only reason I think they even call it an exapnsion is its size. Its very small IMO compared to SOA.

Compare ToB to the Icewind Dale expansion (Heart Of Winter). HoW improved the graphics, but the expansion could be completed in under 12 hours (supposedly) This was not acceptable, and neither is ToB, usually the expansion is just a cash in.Originally posted by Goblynlord:

Look at it this way, BG2:SOA had 3 versions of the original game released, all these added were some shop keepers, and in theory to get all the addons (legitimately) you would have to spend upwards of £60. Whereas ToB was £20 (expensive for an expansion) a lot more of an expandion than those small adances with collectors edition etc.
It all comes down to money in the end, how many of you bought ToB without reading a single review? The expansion was for the fan base, and they hope it attracts a few new customers.
Even with this conclusion they still make patches, which seems strange to me, they care about their fan base, but they still release (to most peoples opinion) a substandard product and then spend the next few months patching it. it is just more proof of how contradictory the games industry is. I could give you reasons for this, but this post it already too confusing/long

Some people asked for it to be done, not everyone has played/completed SOA yet, so it might be a good thing.Originally posted by Raven Avenger:

I don't see why to make a separate forum... Maybe I am just stupid.</STRONG>

The big difference between ToB and TotSC is that TotSC is really just an add-on, while ToB is a sequel disguised as an add-on.Originally posted by Raven Avenger:

What I mean by that is that ToB continues the main storyline, while TotSC only adds a couple of side quests. ToB is very spoiler-sensitive as a result, but I doubt anyone could care less if you post something about the Demon Knight in Durlag's Tower.
Baldur's Gate 2 Spells Reference: Strategy, tips, tricks, bugs, cheese and corrections to the manual.
Also, because ToB offers a completly new area in the world to explore, mentioning places like Saradush, and Amkethran in the SoA forum when reletivly new people are around, they might get confusd, and think there is more to BG2 then what they see. Also, because ToB is more of a sequel, it offers the finish to the Bhall-spawn saga, thus is still story orientated, making it very easy to spoil the story for people. TotSC was just new areas to the original game, and din't offer more plots to the story, jsut some new areas and a quest here and there. Not as much, if anything, to spoil with that.
