100,000 exp. points in 2 days

Post by Garcia »

you have to be/have a lvl. 14 cleric in your party. you should have the gate spell so just summon the big bad pitty. he gives 16,000 exp. do that 6 times (2 days) and you have 100,000 exp. (96,000)
you don't have to sleep, kill, sleep, kill just remember before you sleep to summon-> kill it really adds up.
and no this is not cheating!

"I don't use breach and pierce magic because it makes it easier so I think it is cheap"
Wake up and smell the coffee!
And I'm sure some didn't know!

Well, it's early as you can tell by my post. But normally you summon/gate creatures to help you fight. What do you call this? Excercise? That's what I think is cheap. And since you average about 50k xp a day doing the normal quests I also call it boring.

Old news is when some things has been on the board several times before.

What breach and pierce magic has to do with my response I have no idea.

That said I'm sorry if you took offense. (It's still rather early which might contribute to my "tone")

non taken.

What breach and PM concerns I mean that it makes it easier and this is a easy way to gain good exp. just because its easy doesn't make it cheap. You can gain you "normal exp. + the pit fiend. If there is a easy way there is no need to do it the hard.
You will have to fight for your exp. there are other tricks where you don't have to do anything that is a bit cheap. (like, steal, sell, steal, sell)
I have been here for some time and haven seen this one posted I'm sure some knows and I'm sure some don't.
But I can't blame you for thinking it is cheap some take cheating as "the way I like to play my game". Some take cheap as "taking advantage of the game and so on… just look at some of the cheating topics…..mixed opinions!

I know a better way. Do Jaheira romance. Then Elminster will show up every few days with a Harper pin and 100k exp.

Always remember when gaining XP there is nothing better than Yoshi's heart Image

Mr. Sleep, what do you mean by Yoshi's Heart? I know Yoshimo is bad, but after killing him in Copper Coronet, I see no heart?

I am currently at Chapter 6 done most quest needed except the trademeet quest and stronghold quest.

While I am doing my mage stronghold quest, I realise that I have a lot of time to spare, without anything to do while I wait for my wand of apprenti.

Since Imoen is still lvl 16, I am planning to summon as many fiends as possible, while lvling up a couple other NPCs.

I worked out that with that in mind, I can get 280000xp every 9 hours. That means in three days, I can get 2.24m xp, minus me and jaheira who has already reach the cap, that leaves 373333xp for the NPCs. Not a bad idea, compare to just sit at the sphere and wait for the strong hold quest to finish! Image

Jaheira's romance should be looped if you want to gain new harper pin & 100000 xp every day. If everything is ok then Elminster will appear only once.

What are we talking about? 16,000? Well, lesser Fiend and Caofiend are worth 12,500 and 10,000. Anyway, to have ability to cast such spell you should have about level 12-13 mage (excuse, i do not care ensure for exact number, anyway in general it's right). What matters 100,000 at such level? You can cast, say 2 such spells per day (i.e. before you should rest). In short, it fits if you should have some 100,000 or less for next level (60 caofiends, say, for full party), not for leveling.
And why is 14lvl Cleric needed, pray? You need only two things - way to call a fiend and Prot.from Evil on any party member. Any priest in BG II have Prot.from Evil 10' radius...
Just curious,
L.

P.S. If you indeed wish to use of this exploit on party with level low enough, there's one. Image
Find some place with doors, that helm with Simulacrum, good weapon(s) with high +es (to hit the fiend), summoning spell scroll(s). Place scrolls in quickslots of person with the helm, simulacrum him, cast Prot.from Evil at least on the duplicate and on characters supposed to kill fiend and place them inside the room. Should i continue? Image
However, BTW, you should find some (rather half legal) way before to make the cash for items mentioned Image Correct me if i'm wrong, but, IMHO, fiends are immune from normal weapon. Image
Best wishes.

Well, and to advance to next level in full party that cleric(14) should cast Gate 85 times Image IMHO, Shaddowkeeper would do better Image
