it sounds like you did that with improved beholder script or no shield of cheating or old cloak of mirrors!
How bad was it?
Pls post a new thread if my theory works, or if you or some other scripting god knows the answer.
I am sorta like xyx in some ways, in that I like spells that always work and has some nice cheese effects, but unlike xyx I also like the intellectual fencing match of spells, counter spells and counter counter spells. often tho, I will get annoyed and start spraying down the area with inc cloud or abu dahzims. with a quick breach beforehand, that always works.

This may be over kill and quite cheesey, but how I killed the black dragon in the shadelord dungeon was crude and clumsy, but works. you know the old duke nukem trick of spraying down a room with missiles, carpet bombing? well, the lair was quite small so I actually laid a line of inc clouds using a projected image. once I ran out, i dispelled the image, recast and laid more down. the image was protected by prot from ellements cast twice, it stacks and was quite comfortable in the area. I eventually laid down so much inc clouds, they sure last a while! it was like the provervial room painter who forgot to not paint a way out of the room without stepping of fresh paint! I ended up cornering it, and the bugger fried to a crisp! it really is best with an improved dragon ai, since they will avoid staying in areas where they take damage, so it kept retreating until I got it pinned. this might work. very wastful of spells, but worth trying.
