Summon lots of powerful pets and place traps. When the battle starts turn your AI off and run away and wait some time. This will take out their spellprotections and they will waste alot spells on your pets. If the pets die try sending in some more. You should have mordekaines attacking the huntress and the other humanoid enemies. The beholder or succubus will kill mordekaines with a death spell so they won't help against those very much.

That fight is a royal pain. I positioned all of my party where the Huntress appears, so I could take the archers out. They were killing my mages. I summoned Planetar, spiders, anything I could. I set these on the siren and beholder, and kept summoning as they were killed. I immediatly killed andthing that used arrows or such, then concentrated on the other. Insect plague and creeping doom work great, or they did for me.

Guess what? I got a fever, and the only prescription is more cowbell!

I used a bunch of delay action fireballs and skull traps, they killed off 1 char, and weaked the others enough to cripple them and make them easy kills. Be warned, they jump in with spell protection up and humming, so use a lot.
They call me Darth...

Buff up. Have your toughest character open the seal and provide a distraction. Have your other party members off to the side (maybe the room with the globes so they can rush the enemies later).

Have mage (out of line of sight of enemies) cast timestop (preferably improved alacrity before). Imprison the beholder (I think it only puts up improved mantle, another tactic I used was having an improved hasted fighter/mage with black blade of disaster kill off the beholder, caster and the archer during timestop). Use spell triggers/sequencers to kill the drow caster.

Once timestop ends the other enemies aren't that hard once your party and summons gang up on them.

Well, the second time through, My party consisted of me Stalker, Imoen, Haer dalis, cernd, sarevok and Keldorn. Heres what I did.
I had harry lay traps to take out the siren. Used Keldorn to take out the hive mother wielding carysomar, I took on the Huntress and sarevok killed the cleric. I had cernd caste a couple of spells (insect plague, implosion etc) and Imoen caste everything she could, expecially summons. After casting all the offensive druid spells, I had cernd go greater werewolf and pound on that demon with 6 arms that poisons you, his immunity came in real handy. The traps killed the siren immediatly, so I had harry sing imp. battle song which kept off the worst spell effects and him him draw fire from the huntress. Eventually, we won. Quite a hard battle I must say, I had to resort to harry and imoen using tensor to beat huntress and others.

First time thru, I was getting so pounded, i used my paladin with high mag resistance to open the gate and all the baddies came out, then I turned it again which opened the portal. You only have to get one man through the portal to move on to the Demogorgon, cheap, but it worked
The waves came crashing in like blindness.
So I just stood and listened.

OK, I already responded to this in the other forum, so I'll give you another strategy here, albeit cheesier.
Place all your party members in the room where the Helmite Ghost was, have one hasted character turn the key and lure some of them into the room. Try and close the door, dividing their party.
In this way I cut off Y'tossi and Xei Win Toh from the other four, but I couldn't divide the remaining party, so I had to take them all as one.
Personally I think the strat I posted in the other forum was easier and more fun.
Good luck!

Hide in one of the rooms, send out one char with spell turning and boots of speed to open the seal, then run back in the room, as soon as one or two monster make it through the door close the door and kill it.

Rinse and repeat until they are all dead.

The fighter special ability 'smite' works wonders. I personally would place all my traps ontop of the six-armed demon and beholder ( i think they spawn next to each other ) and have Sarevok smite the succubus and then go after the archer. You should also place the majority of your summons around the archer as well. Preferably MSwords.

The reason why smite is so good is that it knocks enemies away. I smote Nalmrissa, and thought she died or something. In reality I just hit her so hard she flew through into the room with the tubes, and she couldn't open the door . Imagine my surprise when I went to open the door, and all of a sudden, half my party gets charmed !

Anyways, on any of the smaller foes like Nalmrissa and the Xei Win Toh , you can smite them away from the fight which will help alot. I'd personally choose Nalmrissa, because you can safely smite her through the door. I think the door may be too far for Xei Win Toh to go through.

I've got a simple tactic for all of you. Ever heard of spells called 'imprisonment' or 'maze' ... If you have - try them out & if you haven't - find out!

It was quite easy for me, with the right tactic...
Summons some pets (Deva, M-Sword, and some others).
Take your party south of the the 3 pillars, and take one of your fighters with boots of speed to run up and open the gate for the monters to appear, then run down again, into the south room and close the gate.
Your pets are probably dead soon, so summon some more in that room.
place your party as far away from the gate as possible, and get a fighter with boots of speed to open the gate.
Then the monsters should attack, but they only came one at a time, so I let 1 of them in, and shut the gate.
And I did that with the rest too, so instead of fighting all, I fought 1 at a time, very easy...

This is the 3rd time i've put this in a thread now, can't believe how hard people find this!

I had a F/M/T sensibly combat buffed and with the ring of gaxx, and a 39th level monk, + one mordy set on the succubus. I simply whirlwinded the drow with the F/M/T, finished the hive mother with a quivering palm, whirlwinded the kensai, breached y'tossi then got a vorpal hit, and slaughtered the succubus without getting hurt hardly. Is that fight hard? NO!

and as you also put in another thread, you also had a kensai with you

aside from that you were almost at max level, which should make most fights a breeze, especially with a monk and the commando which is FMT.

when most people face this battle they are at maybe 4-5 million exp and it is a hard fight.

As Stilgar said. Bhaalsmistake, you're pushing threads that no one reads for years ago to the first page, while threads that people want to contribute are being shoved back. Please don't do this.
