Most difficult scrap

Post by Saruman »

A friend of mine was going through Watchers Keep while still doing SOA. He found the last fights on level five where you open the seals particuarly difficult and so avoided them by opening the seals all at the same time and then diappearing through the portal to the lair of the imprissoned one.

Later in the game after completing SOA and progressing to TOB proper he decided to go back to Level 5 to see if he could beat all the various gribblies that opening the seals unleased.

What a fight ensued, my mates party is around about 35th level and try as he might there was no way he could kill all the monsters at one time. This has got to be my vote as to the toughest fight in the game.

Has anyone else tried this, did anyone succeed in it?

Are you saying, "Has anyone tried to fight the gangs from all three seals at the same time. If so, that would be the toughest fight in the game but each seal one at a time isn't that bad. Protection from undead gets you through one seal. The one with the humanoid figures is fairly easy and the last seal with the six bad a$$e$ ain't easy at all. The best you can do in that situation is have one guy open the seal and have them chase you into trouble (trouble, summons, etc)
Crush enemies, see them driven before you, and hear the lamentations of the women.

Sounds like a new challenge!!! I'll have to try this one for a laugh when I get my current game to that point (it'll be a little while).

I still think the most difficult scrap might be the duchal palace fight in BG1 though.
May you walk on warrrrm sannd....

Tried the Improved Abazigal? 4 drakes and 2 dragons. It'll make you crazy (that and the Improved Balthazaar- the @(&%)@@ cheats!)

actually you could use the vastly overpowered spiketrap skill to defeat all three groups without much damage taken at all, i didn't even have to use any form of healing with my solo fighter/thief

Unfortunately as all the monsters have already spawned when you come back through the Portal from outside watcher you cannot use any traps whatsoever. This is what makes this scrap so difficult as you come through the portal and you are virtually surround by hostile nasties from the word go.

The Hardest fight I think is Sendai. I tried your idea at level 25 and I agree, it's tough but i did it in the first go,using simulcrum to summon hordes of devas, elementals etc. But Sendai!! I reloaded FIVE times to kill her, those damn Drow mages that appeared kept my mages busy so I couldn't breach Sendai and slowly those Drow added up until I was fighting the last Sendai and 20 or so Drow!! as well as her creatures. She has to be the hardest.

Sendai is easy enough once you realise that if you keep the Drow pinned on the stairs, Sendai is easy enough to beat. A Deva and my Ranger PC managed to hold the Drow, while the rest of my party ate Sendai.

I still think the most difficult scrap might be the duchal palace fight in BG1 though.

Why does everyone find this fight so hard? I have never ever lost it. Not only have I never lost it, I've never lost a Flaming Fist guy in that fight either. Talking Core Rules of course :)

Improved Abazigal is tough, I reinstalled last time rather than bash my head against his brick wall. This time I'm ready.....I think :)

Those seal fights in Watchers Keep kicked my ass. I didn't give them too much time since I really wanted to push through the plot.

Without addons, toughest fight? Those 6 guys from one of the seals, easily. Haven't fought the Imprisioned one yet.

I compare Demogorgon to Shade Lord. The dragon was way tougher than the shade lord. Without the need to stretch your imagination even a teensy bit, he was harder. The seals guarding Demogorgon, were way harder than sissy monkey was. Hmmm, fun idea... 3 seals at once ! Guess Edwin and several fallen planetars are in order ! chaotic commands for everybody !

Let's rephrase that: "The dragon was though." :D

Tried that today.... managed to kill all the drakes and the purple while Abby was still in his human form(not to mention saving my game after I accomplished that... heh). Managed to feeblemind Abby dragon form, only to discover it makes him invincible(had whole party hacking into him for 10 minutes before I gave up). Now, when I fight him, he still seems not to want to die. Anyone encounter this problem? Does the patch make him a whole lot tougher? Every time I get him to Near Death he heals himself(had him do it 4 times in a row). Sorry if I'm a little off topic.... thanks in advance...
