Removing party members in ToB

Post by Izgoth »

Does removing party members break romances?
So that If I remove a romanced NPC and put it back does the romance get broken?

I tried to get lots of exp for my pc with the deck of many things. Got 1.3mil exp for him :D ...until I realized that Edwin was using staff of the magi when I removed him so he became invisible and I could not see him even with true sight. That ofcourse forced me to load.

It does with Jaheira--she takes rejection seriously. I can't speak to the others, however.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

When I summoned Viconia, there was no romance. (Know this because I checked her dialogues, and she gave a 'non-romace-answer). So no romances then... maybe happy script?

Vegeta: Did you finish her romance in SoA? Also the only way for the romance to continue is that you have her with you all the way through, since you summoned her - which mean you either kicked her out of your party or started a new ToB game - the romance doesn't continue.

If you kick a romance interest out of the party then the romance will end; at least that's what it was in SoA, I'm not too sure about ToB though.

That or you can use Shadow Keeper to change the ToB love variable, but I can't remember which one it is you need to change.
Past: Ascension
Present: The Broken Hourglass
Future: Return to Windspear, Imoen Relationship

I have these variables both before and after I left her out and brought back:

AERIEROMANCE 1684654
AERIEROMANCEACTIVE 2

Can anyone clarify this?

The AerieRomance thing is the time left until the next romance dialogue - I'm not sure what this number actually relate to in real time. "AerieRomanceActive = 2" means that the romance is still going.

So it seems that you can remove romance interests and then have them join again without breaking the romance - there might be a timer for this, but I'm not too sure.
