Council of war?

What benefits does one get from being a member of council of war, and how does one become a member of the council?

one of the benefits is that you can get promoted do Warlord if I get out or the 5 wing leaders agree that you should be the warlord.

those 2 guys in the council were apointed by the former warlord (Aegis), he got out, no one wanted to be warlord so i got in leaving 1 space free, wich i'll fill with someone when NwN comes out and we start playing.
