@Loner: Yes, I have been here, watching, learning, for a long time. A very interesting, informative, and sometimes sloppy discussion. Thanks to all.
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

To obtain the robe of vecna etc. : Go back to "The Most Stupid Character of BG2" thread.
I just did a search under "robe of vecna".
On the second page there is some dialogue between Grunt Boy and myself, and he provides a link (says "here") that will take you to the file.
It can be a little tricky. when you are asked to unzip the file, you need to do so in your BG2 override file, which I believe you can access from the main folder (there will be a window in the zip box) by clicking on a series of those little plus and minus icons beside the briefcases. Your programme files should come up through a series of prompts.
It is worth it to download this file, however because it gives you access to some of the most useful items in the game. The robe of Vecna reduces spell casting speed by 50% (including cleric spells if it's on Aerie), provides 15% magic resitance, and has an ac of 3. To obtain the robe, head to the Adventurer's Mart, and talk to Deirdre who should be near a table towards the back.
If you head to the Copper Coronet, you'll also find a bonus merchant there (name starts with a J, and he's sort of in the middle of the room, in front of the area where you initially "pick up" ;) Anomen. He is also worth visiting because he has a very nice +5 sling (sling of Everard) which does not require bullets.
And who knows, one of the merchants might stock cream and sharpen razers too :D

Guys - I just noticed a post by Manveru in his Custom NPCs thread suggesting he might develop more romances with other NPCs, and needs help scripting the romances.

Would it not make an excellent first assignment for the Harem to develop a romance for Valygar?

I like the idea of us working on a romance script for Valygar, yes indeed an excellent assignment for the Harem. I wonder if it would be possible to set an intrigue between the PC, Anomen and Valygar, with the PC eventually having to choose between them????
How about we begin brain storming on a new thread?
probably one of us should email Manveru as well:manveru@poczta.onet.pl

Trial balloon:
Valygar: I have been thinking a great deal about magic, and know I know that I've been wrong.......It has many beneficial uses and it can also be a wondeful thing.

PC: What do you mean Valygar?

Valygar: Well.....I'm hesitant to say this but as we've travelled together I find myself increasingly under your spell. You possess a magic that I've never before encountered.

Anomen: Valygar, what are your intentions......?

Something like anyway, my mind is mush at the moment.

Maybe if Anomen was CN he'd challenge him to a duel, and if he was LG there'd be some kind of peaceful resolution??????

Yet again, I return and loads of messages... Hi all you lurkers :)

DW - I like the sound of that dialogue... ;) This could be fun! Though I'm not an expert on Valygar. Maybe it could cause tension between the PC and Mazzy, doesn't she have a thing for Valygar?

And hey, maybe Manveru might be willing to help us with our Anomen bugs in return :D

Sig - how about
"We are the dark flames of Anomen's Harem.
In the name of the Razor, we are the cream of the cream. Tremble before us and feel the bit of the Blade."
??

@Georgi, yes, definitely like the sig, I'm sure we'll get more than a few comments......

@Velvetfreak, I promise, no whipped cream on the Valygar thread (ties hands behind back in an effort at self-restraint :D )
Maybe we should set it up once we've established general consensus on the signature.

LOL, velvetfreak, what's wrong with whipped cream?

Besides, we have *all* kinds of cream... I'm sure you could find something to your liking!! :D

Uh, besides, I didn't make it up *points* it was dragon wench  ;)

Had it occured to anyone else that this sig will make *no* sense to anyone who doesn't read this thread.... ehhhh... actually, I guess that's a good thing... ;)

I dread to think... Dear me, we really are moving into SYM territory, aren't we!?!

"stimulating"?
Funny, I thought I heard the word "sloppy"!!
;)

BTW, I have officially adopted this sig :)
No strange looks as yet, but it can only be a matter of time...

"Sloppy" was a literal reference to the whipping cream/cool whip discussion. "Stimulating" is also a very good adjective for this thread. ;)

Lurkers are bound to be drawn to this witty and intelligent discussion like moths to a flame...

@Gwalchmai: Sloppy...Are you referring to morally or materially?... ;)

I still vote for Trademeet. Our friendly lurker has a good point about the tents ;)

@dw: Thanks for the info :)

Like the sig. Thought up a variation (before I read the new one); see below. If the consensus doesn't approve I will adopt the current one. Let me know...

Ah, Valygar romance...great idea!! I think some tension betwen Anomen/Valy/PC is definitely in order.

You know, Loner, I think I like the slightly different sig (although I like both).
What do others think (and that includes lurkers ;) )
And yes, those tents do have a certain harem like flavour to them (Tia Maria flavour that is). Mmmmm.....strong appeal there. Maybe we could also convert Valygar's cabin to a sort of country retreat. Not sure how Valygar would feel about his home being transformed into a "den of stinking" goodness though. And I'm sure that for a price those merchants in front of the Innisvale Tavern could be persuaded to stock up on certain commodities.

Good day ladies :)

I left for a day (sick) and pages and pages have been written. :)

Dragonwench: When you had the problems with Anomen, you were a paladin? Maybe that's part of the problem, as my first romance with him was a paladin as well...

I'm going through the Anomen romance again and it's very fun :) Aside from the annoying voice he uses when you click on him, his speech voice is very persuasive :)

I truly like the idea of of Valygar :) But, I also feel a maybe an evil and not fighter type would be fun? (Both Valygar and Anomen are 'tank' types sort of) Maybe a romance with Edwin?

Edwin: I think, wench, that you should turn your eyes from that unworthy slob (Anomen) to a man more fitted for admiration. (yes, why does she look at the posturing of fools while, I, in my magnificence stand here?!?)

PC: Do you think we can't hear you talking to yourself oh 'magnificent one'?? Why should I pay any attention to a little man such as yourself?

Edwin: Well, as you know, luscious one, the men of Thay are renowned for our skill with magic...and other instruments most pleasing to a woman... just accompany me to my room for but a night and I can show you exactly what you would miss by consorting with this muscle bound goody looming over you. (gestures to Anomen)

However, that would probably just complicate things, and I like the idea of Valygar as well, so I’m good with anything : )

Jennabard: I think you mentioned getting to appreciate Jaheira more? I have found that as well :) I was a fervently annoyed by her, but as the romance continues, I find her less irritating…

Hi Vivien... LOL, well maybe we could do both. Then *shock* we would have the same number of romances as the men! I can't really see Edwin being in a committed relationship or anything as soppy as being in love with the PC though... it would be a far more physical thing... ;)

What we really should do is petition Bioware to get them to take out the "What is it now?" bit, because that is immensely annoying... you're right though, his voice in the romance dialogues is smoooooooth :D

@loner, I like both sigs, can't decide between them really... although I like to have the "dark" bit with flame...
Do we want to be known as "Anomen's Harem", or just "the Harem", then?
Who, me?!?

As to the sig, I'm good with anything, though I like short and sweet sig's the best :) I truly like the dark flame part :)

Georgi: Would be too much to hope for to have the same as the men? ;) And, yes, he wouldn't be in a commited romance usually, but maybe the divine and beautiful child of Bhaal could change that? :)

Oh, now I am definitely going to look into getting my sound drivers fixed (my PC has had a hearing impairment throughout both games) ;)

What the hey on the sigs -- why not have both as options? Then we can pick and choose whichever we like best...how about that?...
