Fun with poison weapon...new cheese

Post by UserUnfriendly »

yet another cheese tactic from userfriendly...(groan, he's at it again!! boo, go for his eyes, boo!!!)
ever tried the druid spell fireseeds? a mediocre spell acording to xyx, but it does create some weapons, about 4 with jahiera, that explode on impact and works just like melf but you can pass it to another char and it has a radius of damage, like around 10 feet or so, same as p word blind. so I had jaheira cast, and pass to my current char, who has poison weapon ability. went to unseesing eye, and my char had shield of balduran so it was a breeze. got to the beholder ambush, and just before the spot I poisoned it, and threw them at the gauth in center. every beholder near by was poisoned!!!

Bwahahahahahah!!!

now poison is possibly the best mage disrupter ever, since like melf acid arrows you get damage per round, and this tends to break mage concentration. think if you refus, like me to pay coweled wizard extortion, and you start casting magic in streets. toss a poisoned fireseed, the radius of blast damage will poison them all!!!

they gate in in a tight group of 4, touching each other . cast in middle, then whack with conventional weapons while they gasp and cry in pain!! this is a gret way for disrupting mages huddled close together, fast. should also work just fine with big metal rod and the frag grenade ammo...radius of 30 feet!!!

curare hand grenades!!!

Try poisoned arrows of detonation. :D :D When I found ~20 of those bad boys one game, my assassin had a field day. Heh heh heh... :D :D
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

Nevertheless the original idea (using specials on multiple damaging weapon) is interesting. What about called shot/smite or quivering palm?

Yes, assassins can poison any ranged weapon, and assassin mages can poison MMM's. (I imagine the same holds true for Energy Blades in ToB.)

Here's my ultimate cheese: Fire poisoned arrows of detonation using the Gesen Bow. All enemies within the blast radius take fire , poison , and electrical damage! :D :D

or forge big metal unit, get firetooth +5 from watchers keep, and load up......

euipp crossbow, add the frag ammo from big metal rod, and fire tooth or any other frossbow will fire just fine. you got thaco +5, fire damage from firetooth, blast damage, similar to magic damage of skull trap, and poison.

OH my GOD!!!

if you equipp club of detaonation or storm star, will the blast of club of detonation be poisoned??? I think so, and with storm star, will you get poisoned chained lightning????

also, will ras or spectal brand summoned sword be poisoned????

Those frag grenades for the Big Metal Rod do 1d12 fire damage, and have a THACO of +10, as well as setting your attacks to 5 per round. Just imagine the potential... :D :D

Don't think any of the summoned swords can be poisoned, because they're, well, summoned creatures.

Oh yeah, TheDude, for even more fun with melf minute meteors, try this. create a elven mage thief, use sk to turn to assassin mage, tehn you have a multi class that just rocks. so you get use any item, then equipp axe of unyielding or foa in OFF hand, cast melf and poison, or energy blades and poison. 1 out of every 4 attacks you will get a RANGED attack with off handed weapon. so 3 hits with poisone dmage disrupting fire strike, will punch thru stoneskin, and the 4th attack will do ranged meelee weapon damamge. so if you equipp flail, you get fire acid ice damage with unsavable slow at RANGE, with axe, vorpal hit, at RANGE, and if you get black razor, you can level drain at RANGE.

hmmm...try club of detonation, and if you use assassin fighter mage with tob xp cap remover, you should get greater whirlwind, where the club detonates at range, in a poison explosion....giggle!!!

Equip the bow, then equpip the ammo(just put it in the box its supposed to go cause right click'n on the bow won't work)
now you have an ammoless weapon using ammo for extra dmg. Same with all the ammoless weapons out there (cept for throwing axes and daggers... i think). Use Watchers keep quivers and be totally ammoless with extra dmg. :D

My personal fav is firetooth + bolt of biting.

You can, by loading the arrows into the quiver slot after equipping the Gesen Bow. This works for all the ammo-less launchers, like Tansheron's Bow and Everard's Sling.

arrows of biting, and bolts of biting with firetooth=extra fire damage plus poison, and gesen =extra electrical damage. nice thing about this is ....

no ammo, just unswitch the ammo and you can now hit monsters, like golems and demiliches that can only be hit by +4 or higher weapons...

thaco of weapon adds to pc thaco, to determine if you can hit the enemy, but the ammo bonus will determine if it affects certain monsters immune to low + projectiles.

these factors dont matter at meelee weapons cause the weapon thaco and its + bonuses are the same. this is why even at just +4 only and no other benefits warblade +4 is a worthwile getting if you got gold and worth keeping in bag of holding in case nishruu chomps your fav sword.

the nice thing about fire tooth is the ability to use big metal unit ammo, and adds bonusses of its own... I am also fond of koa tuan bolts, one char fires them, and holds enemies stunned while the rest of party gets free potshots...

:p :p
