weaponery for Minsc
weaponery for Minsc
I'm planning to bring Minsc with me (Inquisitor) and I'd like some opinions on which way to go for his weapons (the more effective):
two-handed weapons style (specialization): swords(maybe Lilacor) and in future Haleberds;
or
two weapon style (brought to mastery): mace and in future FoA or Crom Faeir (For swords I take Valigar).
thanks

Go for the two-handed weapon style - there are some awesome two-handers to be found later in the game.

I personally like the FOA and CF combo - dual weilding that is.

I agree, two-handed weapon style. I always give Minsc Lilarcor until after you get back from the Underdark, then you can chose between the Warblade +4 sword from Ribald's Secret Stash or the Silver Vorpal Blade you can assemble from those always-helpful Githyanki. Both rock, but I always go for Warblade so you can kill Kangaxx the Demi-Lich. And then there are the swords from ToB.....

Minsc just has to use 2handed swords, he's made for it, while he is more affective dual-wielding, and has the 2* cause he's an ranger,
i always let him use 2handed swords, first sarevok's sword. then liquidor, and then the silver blade. He just has the looks for it, and the brains, just dump power.
It's roleplaying so i always want to stick to what i think fits right, once gave mazzy a halbert, just dousn't fit her!

I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.
LINACOR
Minsc is just made for linacor, he rocks with linacor, also with other 2handed swords but he's a great team with linacor.
expecially that mind protection is great because Minsc is very often a victum of chaos, confious and hold spells because of his low wisdom.
but with linacor all your problems are over.

I had minsc use LILACHOR / AND HALBARDS
The dragon slayer one, then wave blade.
In my currant game minsc is imprisoned in Kangax's lair with only lilachor to keep him company. Who goes nuts first MINSC, BOO, or LILACHOR?
I could have saved him, when I got back from the underdark but the thought of their eternal arguments is just to sinister to pass.

Well minsc is the man, but two handers are really not his full potential i think, giving him axes, which you can pick up some nice +3 one early on, dual wielding, and throw in the a certain mace later, and we won't even go into TOB when i suggest getting some longswords to go with your nice axe. The axes are great for a special reason, most have the elemental damage, and throw him in the aegis hide for the immunities or make him go berserk. Plus in the hide he can use his stealth, which is a highly underrated ability for most rangers in my opinion.
