you shall need to do the quest involving the shadow thieves in the docks district. the one where you have to find information about mae'var and his treachery (yoshimo will point out the building where you can get the quest from renal bloodscalp). after you've done a few quests that mae'var tells you to do, he'll send you to the top floor of the building where you'll have to do some 'favors' for edwin. after doing em he'll be offering you his assistance as a sorcerer...

To bad, he doesn't assist you as a sorcerer but as a mage (a damn good one BTW) but i like the sorcerer class better!!!
I do not have the touch, nor do I have the power.

Whe all wish the was a sorcerer NPC in BG2, but then again than you couldn't choose the first spells, and so you could be stuck with spells you don;t even want, i quess that's why there isn't a sorcerer, it's the only class completely different with each player!

@Stillgar's observation is very clever. I can only add that an Edwinian sorc would simply be too powerful and unbalanced, if the right spells were chosen.
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

When you take Edwin into your party , be sure to talk with Gracie with Edwin at the inn . (Docks)

Funny dialogue ...
"I have sinned enough againts the world , teaching magic to a kender would ensure my damnation ..." Sly One .

took edwin for a while with my gnomish sorc, but dropped him after cntrl -i the dialogs...oh man, jahiera is just too cool, in some of the nastiest things to say to edwin!! nalia was especially bad, so funny...

edwin is ok for even sorc led parties for sheer fun value....later have him face dragon alone for more fun...
