Evil Chars + Reputation

Post by telcontar »

I'm just curious, if one were to use SK to change the align of an evil character, would they not leave the party anymore?
I guess its a question of how their leaving is determined, through a global variable, or through the inherent "evilness" of their align.

If they are evil and you change their alignment, then they will not leave when you rep hit 19. Evil characters leave the party at rep higher than 18 due to the fact that they are evil and the rep of the party it Heroic, which they hate. Neutral and Good characters will leave if the party rep is 1 or lower than 3, respectively.

Yes I do have a patch for this, it's the Happy Script. Basically all I did was remove all the things that make the NPC unhappy due to rep, so they'll never complain and never leave because of rep. If you want this only - without removing NPC fights - then only use the HAPPY.2DA file from the Happy Script. The other files prevent NPCs from fighting each other due to a conflict of interest; oh and there's multi-romance files in there as well.

@Curdis:
Hmmmm, Immie DO leave an evil party, in my experience!
I tried once to slaughter some innocents (just to see the results! :D ),
and Imoen started complaining:
"Potremmo almeno provare a essere decenti con la gente!"
(you know, she's dubbed! ;) )

Then when rep dropped to one she left the party disgusted!
Too nice! :)

@Littiz,

Hmm, that's interesting I once 'spat the dummy' in Waulkeen's Promenade (to see what would happen, for experimental reasons only) and even after Jan and everyone else had left Imoen was still with me. I quit and reloaded pretty soon (like a map or two, and a couple of game hours later) so maybe I just didn't give her time to get the hump. - Curdis !

hm, i tried hacking viccy's align to neutral good, and even to lawful good, and she still whines and tries to leave...ah well, that "distracting" tactic that someone posted still works =p
also, sabre, about the happy script, does that only work if you start a new game? b/c it doesnt work with my original saved games, even though it seems like it should

It should work with a save game as well. What exactly was the problem?
