i really miss those gauntlets of dexterity from BG1 and was wondering if and where there is a pair in BG2...thanks for your help...

Yes, you will obtain a pair during the Useeing Eye quest given to you in the Temple District. The Shield of Balduran comes highly recommended. Good luck!
