Romance trouble - need help

Hi,

I'm currently romancing Jaheira. However, I also have Aerie in my party and just by being nice I suddenly found myself in a romance with her, while the Jaheira one was screwed. I checked the value with CLUAConsole and the LoveTalk for Aerie was 35 which triggered the romance.

So I loaded the game again and tried setting the LoveTalk to 15 ( typed CLUAConsole:SetGlobal(“LoveTalk”,”LOCALS”,15) ) so I could go back to an earlier dialog, end the romance and continue with Jaheira, but it didn't work. I checked the value immediately after with CLUAConsole and it looked fine but as soon as I unpaused the game Aerie's LoveTalk jumped right back to 35. I have tried with both CluaConsole and Shadowkeeper but I cant't get it to work. Perhaps I havn't quite grasped it yet. Could anyone tell me exactly how to do this?

Since that didn't work I changed the RomanceActive value to 3 for Aerie before the LoveTalk 35-event and therefore I never got into a romance with her. Is this enough to keep my romance with Jaheira alive - providing I don't screw up the dialog?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

What is your LT rating with Jaheira?
How do you know that the Jaheira romance is screwed?Have you done the bandit quest and/or the Harper quests?

At the time my LT with Jaheira was 27 and Aerie was 35. I was doing the unseeing eye quest and after releasing the Amanuator-guy, the Aerie-dialog immediately came up. It didn't matter which answer i chose, the romance automatically changed to level 2 while the Jaheira changed to level 3. So I set Aeries RomanceActive-value to 3 before talking to Amanuator and since there hasn't been any problems. I have done the bandit and Harper quest with Jaheira but I would like to know if it stays OK or not. I'd also like to know why I can't lower Aerie's LT with the CLUAConsole order.

Pause the game for an hour or so and then return to see if any dialogue has taken place.Normally there shouldn't be a problem with your Jaheira romance.
At what point of the Harper quests have you arrived?

You cannot change Aerie's LoveTalk back down because there is a command in her script that set it back up to 35 again, if it have already been there. So you'll need to edit the script if you want to do that - not worth it, turning AerieRomanceActive to 3 does the job much better.

Make sure that you turn JaheiraRomanceActive back to 1. What's Jaheira's LoveTalk, and what was the last thing that happened with the Harper quest? These two things are closely linked, so you'll have to be careful when editing Jaheira's romance.

I've played some more since turning Aerie's romance off, and so far I havn't encountered any problems. Fingers crosses. I've just completed the part where Jaheira leaves the party and her LT is currently about 50, so I guess I'll be allright.

Hello again,

I've run into another problem. . I've completed the Harper quest and killed Dermin, but that was quite some days ago (Game Time) and nothing new seem to happen.

Jaheira's LT is now 53 and for between 10-14 days there has been no new dialogs with her. I've tried resting in the Slums and Waukeens Promenade. I'm currently in the Planar Sphere but no matter where I go, Jaheira doesn't speak. From what I can read in different guides there shouldn't be this break here, but I could be wrong. I've tried pausing the game and let my computer run for an hour and a half but still nothing.

Have anyone experienced something like this and do you know how to fix it?

Hmmh, it could be chapter related. You see, certain events happen only in certain chapters (or so I believe).
Continue the story and in after you leave Underdark the romance should continue (at least it was so with me).

Have you tried resting in outdoors areas, ie Nalia's Keep area, Druid Grove, Windspears Hills?

Well, I'M pretty much certain.
You can finish the Harper problem till chapter three, but to finish the plot, namely have Elminster appear, you need to finsh Underdark.

In Underdark there is another romance scene (sort of)when Phaere ask you to stay with her.

After that everything should continue.
If it still doesn't work try using the Jaheira Romance Patch somewhere in the web (I believe Sabre has it).

I'm in chapter 3 and I have tried resting in D'Arnise hold and Umar Hills, but still no luck. I'll try downloading the romance patch and see what happens.
