@ Grunt,

Doh!

@viv,

mornin'. grunt did find the profile first so I won't interfere. I just found it ironic that I gelled with the same criteria and just wanted to turn it in grunty's face. it's all in good fun except I'm missing a spleen.

Glory with Matthew Broderick, cary elwes, morgan freeman, and denzel washington. the story of the 144th in the civil war. An amazing story of one man's sudden rise through the ranks of the union and his struggles in coming to grips with his responsiblities. I don't think you can like the movie more than me since I wrote it and I HATE vegetables.

**finally gets a hold of the left ear he's been looking so long for and gives it a good twist** :D ;)

Lies. :D You may have my ear but I like Glory better than you.

Its about the 54th Massachusetts regiment - composed of coloured troops with white officers. Indeed Mathew Broderick as a young Col. Robert Gould Shaw, *does* rise quickly to command but I believe the other main strands of the story (worthy of equal status) are about the recognition of the sacrifice for the Union of these first coloured soldiers and the horribly wasteful way in which their lives were spent (ironically, the futile attack on Ft. Wagner was what gained the 54th its recognition).

:D

gruntboy,

very astute. I couldn't remember the number for the life of the me. And yes, it is probably not a good idea to storm a fort from a beach. All that cover, they had so many places to hide. Still, it's not all lies. Broderick does play a character who struggles with his newfound leadership although the movie is more about the reckless sacrifice of an all color regiment.

First of all, Lol.

Secondly, Someone else who likes Glory. :) Actually two other people who like Glory. :) I'm not sure if I can determine who likes it more. You both seem to have it down pretty well. To me it was about the fight for human dignity, and ideals, and ideals meeting reality and how to change and still fight for them in the face of that reality. Broderick's character I think basically grew up, and one of the marks of a great movie is that the character's learn something. I liked the part where Broderick's character, Shaw, is talking with Denzel's character and Denzel ( being a fan I really should remember the character's name...I'll have to rent it again)says "what is going to change if we fight. Nothing's going to change." and Broderick replies "nothing will if one doesn't. "

In answer to what kind of programming, I'm learning C++, C#, Visual Basic, and Html. I'm having the most fun learning how to create web pages, although with the sharp decline in the internet I'm not sure that's the best market, but it never hurts to have more skills, and I can create my own web page.

I really hope you get your spleen back Ned as it is kind of hard to get by without it.

Hello again Aurora :)

I actually work in HTML nearly the whole time (occasionally learning PHP) it is really easy to pick up and master, if you have any problems give me a shout :)

The sharp decline in the internet is probably precipitated by a big company backlash due to a lack of end results ergo profits ;) . Only one dedicated ecommerce shop (Amazon.com) has actually made profits. But being able to create your own webpage is always cool :D

Hello Mr. Sleep, :)
I appreciate the offer for help. So far I have found it, as you said, pretty easy to understand(Html that is), but it's nice to know help is only a shout away. :)
I must say the explanation of the downturn, very nicely put. I must go now. I have much to do before the sun sleeps.

LOL :D You don't know the half of it  ;)

Actually the reason is generally when i am online in work i just leave the window in the background, only switching back every so often, GB can sit there for nigh on an hour before i refer back to it, so i wouldn't want to give people the impression i am online when i am infact working, and i am too lazy to turn it on and off all the time when i alternate between work and home.
