ack! my cleric died

Post by kyra »

I managed to kill my only cleric in the halls of stone, and now the guy in the treehouse won't res her. I thought he was supposed to do this? Or should I start over from my last save previous to her death?

There are several Wands of Ressurection around the dungeons, use them to raise your cleric. If you don't have any of them now you can raise dead if you have the mace called Wings of Dominion.

Maybe I missed something - how do my non-cleric characters use a wand of ressurection?

It took me a while to figure that out too, I couldn't find any instuctions on how to use magical weapons. Here's how it's done, 1st; hold the magical item and then click inventory. Then go to magic and the item will have a + in front of it (+wings of dominion), just click on it. You can then target your crew member. Have fun!

I think my elf cleric guy is broken, as I just showed up with 3 dead people (I went *straight* to the treehouse, no camping, no other fights), and 2 fighters that were down at least half health. He tells me to come back anytime I need healing - he does NOTHING. Stupid elf guy.

Yes, he's had his staff for a good long while now - I really think he is somehow broken. I've tried everything, walking up without talking and "whipping out my dead guys" (cause I really am happy to see him!), talking to him, not talking to him, everything I can possibly think of. He doesn't res, he doesn't heal. He is broken. Yes, I do have the 1.3 patch.

I think after you restore the Lifespring fountains, when you defeat them Lifespring Gaurdian down to deep halls, Beriand will stop healing you since one of the fountains totally heals your party. I not sure though if the fountain can raise/resurrect dead character but give it a try if this is the case.

Nope, haven't gotten that far yet. I reverted to a previous save and managed to avert death, but this is really bothering me. I'm now almost completely out of res item/charges (no, I'm not *that* inept, but it is my first time through the game, and stuff happens), and I have no backup plan for when things get really ugly =/

Just save after every fight, is things don't go well and lose some party member reload and play the fight again. At least do this while you are in the Dwarven Dungeons and after you ascend to Speculum there are some good people to help you in a time of need :) .

You said he was an elf? Isn't there a built in magic resistance in elves that means there is a percentage chance they cannot be raised?

Not good news I know but a thought...

The cleric in the treehouse is an elf, isn't he? And it isn't the race of my characters that is the issue here - the cleric does NOTHING to help any of my party, including Emmeric, the human warrior, who was down at least half health the last time I went to visit. It's frustrating to have him tell me time and again to "come back if I'm in need of the healing powers", then have him completely ignore the fact that that is exactly why I am there.

Resorting to save games is an ugly way to do it - it feels more like I'm trying to beat the random number generator than playing a game. I'm gonna have to continue to do it though, which pisses me off =/

I'm sorry I think you misunderstood me - I meant your character was an elf and so has a resistance to being raised, not that the cleric guy was an elf.

Beriand will heal you anytime, its just a bug.

Only Cleric can use Wand of Resurection(sp).
