To hit Iron Golems, you need +3 weapons or better. Due to their resistance, you won't be able to do that many points of damage to them at a time.
There's nothing a little poison couldn't cure...

What happened here was the gradual habituation of the people, ... to receiving decisions deliberated in secret; to believing that the situation was so complicated that the government had to act on information which the people could not understand, or so dangerous that, even if he people could understand it, it could not be released because of national security.

golems are COMPLETELY immune to magic attacks I'm afraid Mal. They are combat machines. You'll want to use as many buffs as possible before the fight and remember: Iron golems are massive! I don't remeber exactly where they are in the planar sphere, but wherever, they CANNOT fit through doors. Just get them stuck behind a doorway and they won't be able to catch you.
You can even sleep and they'll be there when you wake up.

here's a couple more ideas which I haven't tested myself but could be of some help...

use Pierce Magic and Lower Resistance spells to take the magic resistance down

cast Protection from Normal Weapons to see if that will counteract their fists.

hope that's helpful

I had Imoen wield the Gesen bow, and kill an Iron golem that couldn't get through to my group. Took quite a while, but she did regular damage just about each turn.

I believe the damage u do to big golems (Iron/Adamantite) depends on your thac0.

Minute Meteors

Use Melf's Minute Meteors on the Iron Golems. If your mage is 12th level or higher, you can kill 2 iron golems with each casting (though it takes a little bit of time).

Or just use the Rod of Smiting, which instantly kills golems if they dont make their saving throw.

Rod of Smiting can be bought from one of the merchants in the Underdark (Ust'Natha).

Yeah, the Rod of Smiting is a great weapon for dealing with golems. I gave it to Anomen to deal with that golem statue on level 1 of WK. Worked like a charm. :)

lol, I just did that with an adamantite gollum. I lured them all into the hallway, killed the two stone gollums, and since the Adamantite was stuck and couldn't get past the doorway, I casted Lower Resistance, Greater Malison, and Pierce Shield with my Sorcerer, and did Finger of Death with my Cleric.

But the problem with the one in the planer sphere is, that it's one of few golems that isn't stuck behind a door or something,
and thus............doing (incredable amounts of) damge to you

In the areas where they show up - I've had no problem getting them stuck (I take advantage of that in one area, by eliminating the Stone Golems stuck behind them before tackling the Iron/Adamantite golems. :D )

I found that the 2 smaller stone golums wern't stuck but the iron golum definetly was, so I got the iron golum to cover the door which kept the other 2 trapped in and killed the iron golum with the loverly flail of ages. The other 2 should really be no problem.
