level drained!!

Post by Artemis Entreri »

ok im pretty used to playing baldurs gate, this game is a little different(turn based and all). My main character got leveled drained fighting a shadow and i do not know how to fix it. His strength is at 3 (-4) Anyway, i know in BG a simple "restoration spell" did the trick. How do i cure level drain in Pool of Radiance??

Use a potion/wand of Restoration. And there is a lvl 4 spell of Restoration.

Do you mean you're in the Deep Halls/Halls of Stone, or are your characters lvl 2? Anyway there are plenty of potions/wands of Restoration in the Main Halls as well as a fountain of Restoration. You should have no problems finding these potions/wands especially since they're usually located around the creatures that drain stats/levels. Exactly what monster drained you of levels?

a shadow drained me of levels. My character is only level two....sorcorer only has magic missle and burning hands as his strongest spells. Im fresh into the game. But i did find a restoration potion afterall. I think i was getting a little ahead of myself in the main halls. I backed up a little. Thanks for all the advice

If you do not have a wand or potion, you can also rest several times in a row. Each time a little bit of your stats will be restored so you will have to check regularly if you rested enough or if you need to rest some more..

Any effect currenlty active on your character is shown in the inventory screen to the left-botton side. If you were level drained then it will be shown there along with the amount of rounds left to fade out.

Anyway restoration (wand, potion, spell) cures all negative effects that have to do with yours stats including level drains.

And another thing,

Level drain and stats drain are different things. Shadows drain your strength and not your level but everything is cured with restoration. When your stats are drained they will not be shown on the effects screen but level drain does.

sorry for giving inaccurate info before :) .

In the South West portion of the main halls there is a Fountain of Restoration. You need you get through 8 orcs to get to it though. Another option if you can't find anything else to restore yourself.

Just rest a bunch of times and your character will be restored.
