I was playing through the game for about the 6th time, on my way back to Elhan with the Lanthorn when I was stopped half way by some travellers. They said they had heard of my deeds from BG 1 and then they turned into copies of my party after some dialogue and attacked me.
It had never happened on any other run-throughs and it seemed a pretty weird one-off encounter, so is this linked to another quest/storyline? I didn't wait around to see if anything followed it, because I was so close to the end of the game.
Well, as far as I remember this happened to me too. I believe I tried to get the answer in a walk-through somewhere and it did mention the encounter but the author was just as baffled as you (and me). If there is quest potential or just an explanation I hope someone out there has the answer.
There is a party you come across that take your form if you tell em who you are, but they leave you alone if you play dumb.Not sure what theyre sposed to be- maybe Irenicus manufactured clones? or maybe just another erm 'loose' plot thread.
Well, apparently those dopplegangers are bounty hunters that hunt you down because of the price Irenicus put on your head. I know for sure he offered a bounty because of the little forest of tethir quest with the wolfweres.
