TDD bug?

Post by HighLordDave »

I have run into some greater werewolves in the dungeons under Trollford and none of my weapons are doing any damage. I have Celestial Fury (+3), Staff of Rynn (+4), Sling of Everard (+5). Is this a bug or am I missing something?

Maybe they have Protection from Magical Weapons running. Have you tried dispelling them?

I have not tried that yet. My best defense so far is the "run like hell" technique.

I see we studied at the same dojo. :)

My first "signature" move was the outer cheekbone block. I only used it once, then developed the "run like hell and trip your buddy" move.

Actually, I don't think it's a TDD bug, but since it was mentioned several times already at the official TDD forums: it's a BG2 bug. In theory, those Greater Werewolves are able to heal themselves at a very high speed, so you'll need a bit of luck I suppose... And you'll have to take them down really quickly, or they'll just regenerate to laugh in your face. ;)
I believe there's indeed a bug fix for it somewhere, it could be that they've included it in the latest TDD patch.. Have you downloaded and installed that one already?

It's not them regenerating; after I whack one of them, even with a critical hit, I get the "Your weapon is ineffective" message, even when using one with a +3 or +4 THAC0 bonus.

I have the latest TDD patch (1.0.2) but I don't have any of the Baldurdash or other aftermarket fixes. I will look for one (unless someone wants to conveniently point me in the right direction . . . please!).

Will Dispel Magic work against Protection From Magical Weapons?

I have another TDD bug question:

I have been using Celestial Fury on trolls left and right and it's not stunning them. The animation is there, and it works on ogres, spiders and giants, but not on the trolls, giant trolls or spectral trolls. Has anyone else run into this?
