"So you want to know about my past?
Where should I begin...."
And with those words, the young man from the East begins to recount his adventures and of the encounters which he has been fortunate to come across. Tales involving tribal warlords, the befriending of various royal families of distant lands. And of unfortunate trangressions with the odd dragon or two.
Now, whether the individual at hand wishes to believe in the stories is another matter all together. Most would like to believe that there is a grain of truth somewhere within his stories, however there are a few who would naturally question his tales. So who is this person who has somehow entranced an entire village, even if it consisted of just over a dozen people and the odd gnome here and there.
The young man in question is none other than Tamerlane Khan, however judging from the audacity of his stories, some would even question the authenticness of his family name. The great name Khan, the bane of tourists and travellers who have ever set foot upon the eastern lands, beyond the realm of Argyle.
But if history has taught us something, it is that claiming to be an actual member of an all-conquering and blood thirsty family does have its draw backs, as the family in question may often disrepute the actual claim itself. As a result most Khans have a tendency to be found under graveyards or located near eerie looking castles. Will the same fate befall this young man? The locals have taken a 'Wait and See,' attitude to the whole thing. However, most believe that he'll live for a few more years at best.
Regardless of the supposedly concocted stories, and somewhat political problems which have arisen from being a supposed Khan. Tamerlane has proven himself to be a handy if somewhat amatuerish thief. Sure his last adventure was fraught with danger, and ended horribly wrong. But who would of known that a bank owner would keep a pet golem!?!?
However credit must be given where credit is due, and escaping from the clutches of a mad banker has seen our youngster become a bit of a rural legend, amongst the villagers. But those in the often brutal world of hospitality and trade would lead you to be believe that the bank owner let the youngster go, because he knew something that most would not even begin to understand and possibly scoff at.
However now equipped with an inflated ego, based upon his recent escapede. The youngster for reasons unknown to most has decided to rid the lands of demons whilst becoming rich along the way, just as any self-centered thief would choose to do. A seemingly impossible task?
Maybe the servants of the Great Khan won't need to hunt down this youngster after all?
(Climatic Ending)
Or will they......
