BG in Windows 2000?

Hey, can someone please tell me how can i run Baldur's Gate in Win2k? I just upgraded my system and i can't get the game to work.
I played BG just fine under Win ME, but i didn't finished it and i really want to do that. It would be a shame not to be able to play BG under Win2k. Pleaaseeee help!!!

I have no problems running it under W2K.

Do you have Direct X installed?

Yes I have DirectX 8.1 for NT and Win2k and the latest drivers for audio/video cards. It gives me an 'blabla something kernell32.dll' error.
What could cause that? I really hate not being able to play tha game.
